We can't let ea/bioware get away with what they have done to
mass effect 3.

It is not simply the matter of them ruining an otherwise great game (or the
entire trilogy for some people) with a horrible "ending," it's not
simply them taking a character who is important to the story, already on the
disk and completely playable, and locking him out as paid day 1 DLC, it is the
mindset that these choices represent.

They wouldn't do these things if they didn’t think they could get away with it
/ make more money by doing them. And so far they have been correct; people
whined and complained about it, but they bought from ashes anyway. If we don't
make a stand here, it won't stop with mass effect. If we don't stand up and
tell ea/bioware -in some way they cannot help but acknowledge- that this is not
acceptable, this is how dragon age will end as well. An important character
torn out and neutered to provide day 1 DLC; multiple "endings" that don’t
really differ and ignore all of your prior choices, even more content that
would have been in the “actual” game removed and doled out piecemeal over
several months. After all, writing a good story with compelling characters that
takes into account even a small fraction of possible player choices is hard and
expensive; why do all of that work for just 60$ when you can sell a hollow
shell of the game for 60$ and then get approximately that much again for the
rest? Why spend the time and money to make good endings when people are just going to buy the game anyway?

This is what will happen if we don't stop it.

What can we do? I'm not entirely sure; they already have our money for ME3, and
we have thus far done nothing to convince them that we collectively have the
will to follow through on promises not to buy their next game(s). One thing is
certain: if we don't do something, it is only going to get worse.

Well, there isn't much we can do. But Bioware's lost my trust and I'm not going to follow them blindly anymore. A good first step would be to release ending dlc. That's the only way I'd begin to forgive them. Then, if the other dlc's are good, I'll forgive them. But to earn my trust, DA3 needs to be spectacular.

But if I don't get an ending dlc, I'm not spending another cent on any Bioware or EA product, including Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and TOR

I can't be the only one who thought of this when I read the title.

That is what I was thinking of when I made the topic.

I wasn't sure how much of the speech to use, so I kept it mostly in the title.

And that is how to get their attention. It's the only way to get their attention. Hit them in the wallet and they will notice. Complain and still pour money into their games, and continue subscribing to TOR, and they will just laugh all the way to the bank and screw everyone again the next chance they get.

Personally, I agree with the guy (or girl, don't remember which) who canceled his TOR subscription and put the reason as ME3. Take away their money and let them know why. Let them know they can't just pull a pile of crap out of their collective butts, throw it in our faces, then expect us to thank them for it (and pay sixty bucks for the next pile of crap they throw at us).

And, just for fun, we should all email them various pictures of turds. It may solve nothing but it'd sure feel good to throw back what they've given us.

I agree, and I'm doing everything I can to keep the fight alive and hold the line. I feel like I'm fighting the Reapers all over again except now they are EA and Bioware. I just hope when I finish the final battle this time, I get a good ending and a real variety that give what would be the sci-fi masterpiece for the 21st century the shine and rewards it is due.

if you want your voice heard louder got to my blog which I have a link too in my Sig , click on my ME3 review and click on the links to my polls.

1. would you Boycott Bioware if they don't fix the endings
2. do you believe Multiplayer should have no impact on the single player campaign
3. Facebook Campaign demand better endings for ME3

As a strong follower of Bioware since Baldur's Gate, I've noticed a steep decline in quality, as well as a steep decline in my expectations.

That's the same reaction I had when I finished ME3.  Picard knows how I feel.

After preordering DA 2 and not getting what I wanted I didn't spend one penny on DLC. Of course I bought every DLC for DA:O.

After preordering ME3 and getting this sham pulled on us they not only will not get a dime of $ from me but it looks like I'm not buying any B/W or EA product for a VERY long time.

The sad thing is that B/W used to make exactly the types of RPGs that I cared deeply about. No other RPG developer has gotten it right [for my tastes].

I've drawn my line, making constructive logical arguments that are backed by the evidences on how much of a failure the ending was and express that consistently on this forum and sending that memorandum out by Tuesday.

And simply stating that I will simply voting my money against any of the Bioware game unless they fix this problem appropriately. My cash isn't being used as a weak-hostage weapon, I choose what is worth spending money for and simply I see no reason to use my money on something that will screw with me mentally. I've stopped buying EA Sports, Activision and Maxis games for that reason for a very long time.
