I got sidetracked a bit curing the Krogan Genophage and forgot to do the Grissom Academy mission.
When i went to do it i was informed i was too late and Cerberus had wiped it out.
Does anyone know if there is a serious knock on from not doing this?

Well a whole bunch of innocent kids were kidnapped and Jack is probably dead and you lose some war assets.

Later in game you encounter Jack again , and shes have a surprise for you ( I dont want to spoil , if want i can tell )

Yeah, there are a handful of quests like that from the first half of the game. Another one that happened to me was finding information on the Ambassador's son. I waited to do that until after the attack on the Citadel, and by then he was nowhere to be found.
It's especially irritating because there are some quests like that which HAVE to be completed before a certain point, and other quests like some of the fetch quests which CAN NOT be completed until certain objectives are met, and there's no way to tell which, if either category any given quest falls into because the mission log is terrible.
