It's clear that almost everybody (including me) wants a happy ending to Shepard's story and that's not a bad thing. Actually, it's a really good thing because good endings make you feel that you have succeeded. Especially in a game where you develop your character YOUR way trough the series. Now how I think ME3 should have ended:
First of all I came across this cut out dialogue between Anderson and Shepard where they talk about what they'll do after this is over wile sitting there, on the Citadel, and watching the Earth - that should've been there and the whole part with that reaper/starchild thing should have been deleted. How epic it would be - two great soldiers sit down and talk after a really hard fight, just sitting and watching how the reapers get torn apart by the crucible while that epic music that is already there plays along. Then they get out of the citadel and slowly walk up on a hill. They look around - everything around is nuthing but crashed buildings, rubble, dust. Then they look down and they see Alliance soldiers saluting them, Krogan soldiers looking up with eyes full of respect, Turians celebrating the victory and so on. Then they walk down and Shepard's romance runs up to him and hugs him, then James gives you a bro punch in the shoulder saying "That was completely loco, bro.", Garrus walks up to you and he's like "Good thing you're alive Shepard. You probably wouldn't have got any ladies at that bar in heaven without me." and similar things with every character that survived. That would've been an epic ending. Well at least for me. Now Normandy crashing on some planet is a good thing. Of course none of the crewmates that were fighting with you should be in the Normandy or it should be explained how they got up there because the fight's down on Earth. Well anyway lets say Joker crashes on this planet with the rest of the crew who are not ground soldiers and they get ambushed by some hostile aliens. Shepard has to locate the Normandy's crash site and save his crew - in my opinion a great DLC and I would defintely buy it.
