So far im about 5 hours into ME3 and have done the story up to where i get ash back on the normandy and so far i am happy to say story wise and gameplay wise, a lot of the complaints seem to me unfounded( sure yet again theres less rpg features than the previous game but its still a decent play)

my issues so far are with the squad. James vega is terrible.  i thought jacob and miranda were dull but compared to james they look great, he is just a bog standard soldier he is a roided up, agressive, stupid grunt hes exaclty the same as every COD and Battlefield game character, and that reporter diane i think it is, i didnt even let her on the normandy, i dont have time to waste babysit some annoying reporter.

replacing old characters with new ones in the final game of a trilogy is always an epically stupid idea but if your gonna do it atleast commit and make them decent characters.

I think that the game would be nearly as good as 1 (which is my personal favourite game ever) would be if we got one of the already existing and much more interesting characters.

jack-2 sentences with her ( even as a romance)
dr.chakwas so for no proper conversations.
grunt- 1 avoidable mission aiding him, with no real conversations
ashley- she is a squadmate but she is the equivalent to garrus in ME2 - shes there but she says so little that its more of a tease than a squadmate.
thane- 1 short discussion, then he was killed for no reaon, kai leng had shepard, garrus and liara pointing guns at him, there was no need for thane to step in ( i know he had to die but that ending was just pointless)
mordin- admittedly his ending was fitting, but i would have liked to get to use him more he was a pretty interesting character.
samara- 1 mission aiding her, still cant romance her dispite ME 2 setting it up as a possibility

im glad garrus and liara got the attention they deserved, but its just a shame that shepards story ends without us getting to do anything about 90% of the relationships weve spent the last 2 games developing

did this game have different writers? because it genuinely seems like
they dont like the returning characters with the exception of garrus.
most of them are just there for face value, to shut the fans up but the thing is the are so minimal that they may aswell not be there

anyway thats my rant over,

I hated trying to talk to someone and get the a response that you would get from Kasumi and Zaeed from ME2. Supposedly the crew was supposed to be small so that it was more personal, but I felt a better connection with the larger cast from ME2 than this one. They failed with that goal.

Also it would have been possible to have only James, Liara, and EDI as your crew. Garrus and Tali could die. Ashley didn't have to be on your ship-I also think you could kill her in the Udina mission. Javik was dlc so not everyone would be able to use him.
