OK so yes we all know about the endings. To me, the ending sucked, left me feeling wanting and empty, but man what a ride! I have never been so engrossed in any video game before and hopefully ME is the standard future companies base their games from. I want more of series like this. Thank you BW for everything, even if I didn't like the ending thank you for the time I spent playing. It was an engaging experience and that's why all this fuss is happening over the ending, you left it to open - Maybe this is part of your master plan.
Now about the ending. Who says that's the end? Yeah no ending save, it saves right before the Catalyst talk if I remember right. So, remember how BW let us chose to have Anderson as councilor and then said NOPE ITS ULDINA! OK now I remember reading a while back that Shepard is not OUR character. We get to experience his story and yes we get to chose a few things about who lives or dies, but he is still Shepard, the Alliance Commander who will stop at nothing to save the Galaxy. It's stated he wants to DESTROY THE REAPERS how many dam times in the game. DESTROY to get rid of them so they are no longer a threat.
Ok so who says the next DLC won't be this: Shepard chose to destroy the Reapers. Yes, the Geth and EDI die, relays are broken, who know's where the Normandy is(might be a good thing) and we are screwed. WTF did you expect, we just stopped these Reapers that have been killing everything for how long now? There is no magic wand to stop something like that, people are going to die, maybe entire races. (See Geth and Batarians seem pretty screwed)
DLC- No matter what ending you picked, Shepard picked the Destroy Ending. The "Real" Shepard would have done that. Control? Nah why would Shep pick that nonsense when he can just end things permenantly by destroying the reapers. Merge? meh I mean I can't see Shep doing that because the whole point is that organics should have the right to chose for itself its future so can't see the "real" Shep doing that either. Destroy? Hell yes. ( I picked merge on mine cause I wanted the "happiest ending" /cry) Real shep would sacrifice EDI and the Geth to ensure the reapers NEVER CAME BACK PERIOD. They are dead. Gone. No way you can come back, they are dead completely. Ta Ta.
OK the DLC picks up that Shep destroyed the Reapers. Thats it, he destroyed them. No synergy or control even if you picked that. Since - correct me if I am wrong - the Destroy ending is the only ending you get to see Shep breathing it seems logical that they would use that to base the DLC off. They find Shep and fix him up somehow or maybe he really wasn't hurt that bad, IDC. The DLC is to find the Normandy and rescue your crew. They can explain there why the hell they were even flying away or to somewhere or whatever the hell it was they were doing. We get to rescue our crew, see the after effects of the war and so on. By the way they won't starve in a week, I am pretty sure the Normandy had some extra rations laying around that could last quite a while. How long did Jacobs father last? I would buy something like that if I got to see my crew again and have some closure. There is SO SO much they can do with DLC and I honestly hope its something that allows us to rescue the Normandy and crew.
TLDR I GUESS
No matter what ending we picked they base DLC off the Destroy ending since its the only ending we get to see Shep alive(correct me if I am wrong). Shep lives and the DLC is based off going to rescue the Normandy and crew. Or the Normandy and Crew try to find us. EDI and the Geth? Well now, the Geth were created from NON REAPER TECH by the Quarians so we don't need reaper tech to make AI's and who's to say there isn't back up programs somewere in a server that can re create EDI/Geth as they were, just witn non reaper tech. AI's are SOFTWARE not hardware remember. Maybe we find a floppy disc with them on it who the hell knows. (EDI always had the reaper tech I believe but definitely not the Geth and they were always considered sapient)Whatever, as long as I get to see the Normandy and Crew again and together I would be happy and I would buy that even if they never ever fix the endings, since if they make a DLC like I said, that really was NOT the ending after all, was it. I guess we can only hope.
- Side note. I was really expecting an ending where we found a way to stop the Reapers, through a virus or something, doesn't really matter. The ending shows the last reaper, why not Harbinger, in the final minute of his life being told. YOU HAVE FAILED, WE WILL FIND ANOTHER WAY. I think that would have been pretty epic and left a way way wider gate to have follow up Mass Effect bases games from. We still don't know who created the Reapers, or the Catalyst now, and why exactly they were created. Yes tech singularity but this must have come close to happening before or the Reapers would never have been built to start with. Tons of stuff they can do to continue the ME universe and I hope they do continue it.
Maybe the end isn't the end after all

Here is a continuation possibility.
Since the "Conduit" in ME1 was only one way (outgoing) it shouldn't have been able to receive a self destruct signal at the end of ME3. I don't remember (and can't find) any lore that says it was destroyed in ME1 so it should still be there.
I don't know how long it would take for the races to get there using regular FTL speed but it provides a basis to recover the tech and recreate the galactic highway.
Also if Liara was in the "Trench-Run" on Ilos and was given the opportunity to speak further with Vigil she could have been given a copy of the Prothean's prototype mass relay device plans. Or these plans may be archived with the plans for the Crucible on Mars.
Just some thoughts...

Right that's one right there. People keep saying that EVERYTHING around the Mass Relays are destroyed, but not true. If the explosion was that huge the Shepard would be vaporized so there is no possible way they could show him breathing. Yeah ramming an asteroid into a relay caused a system to be wiped, but who knows what that beam did. Maybe it took the energy away from the relay as it passed and once it got the the last relay it shot off into dark space and then exploded. Whatever, the point is they did leave it open.
I am just curious how it would be received if they FORCED the Destroy ending on us for future DLC. Personally I don't care, as I said my cannon Shep picked synergy for his ending. If they force the Destroy ending on my I can care less, I just would be happy to have an after ending DLC that explains some stuff and allows us to rescue the Normandy and crew. Hopefully re build the Geth and EDI. How would you all feel if they forced the Destroy ending on us BUT they had after ending DLC?
