Here we go. Found it again. This is from the old script.

"Designer Cutscene:
Shepard comes to.
A handful of survivors from hammer, including Anderson and the henchmen, have gotten bogged down just a few dozen meters from the conduit and have dug in, but are dying quickly.
Suddenly, the Normandy streaks overhead, evading fire fromthe Reaper and blowing a hole in the Reaper enemies' lines.
Anderson shouts for Shepard to make a run for it, and orders the rest of Hammer to cover him."

The outcomes to this where as follows.
1: "Shepard and Anderson approach the conduit's beam. Shepard gets in, but Anderson is grabbed by a husk. Shepard turns to help, but before he can do anything, the beam activates, whisking Shepard away to the Citadel. On the other side, Shepard tears the metal from his leg and casts it aside, and then injects himself with Medigel."

2:"Shepard comes to. Anderson is dragging him forward. A jagged, bloody piece of metal is sticking out of his thigh. The conduit anchor retracts, stranding the henchmen. Shepard tries to walk, but his leg buckles. Anderson hands Shepard his pistol, and lifts Shepard's arm around his neck, supporting his leg. The two begin to shuffle towards the conduit beam."

3: "Designer Cutscene: Shepard limps to the conduit, and takes one final look around for other survivors. Seeing none, he enters the beam and is transported to the citadel."

4: "Shepard regains consciousness. He's bloody, and obviously badly injured. The Reaper is overhead, blasting away at retreating elements of Hammer. Shepard looks around: he's surrounded by burning vehicles and corpses, alone. He reaches for a syrette of medigel, but finds them broken or empty. Determined, he struggles to his feet, and starts limping towards the conduit."

This is more along the lines of varying outcomes I was expecting...way to drop the ball Bioware.  How is it this got cut out?

This would've made much more sense.

It is what I expected to happen and actually make playtrough's near the end more different from another. Since they still got the dialogue in there, maybe it will be patched in? I sure do hope so.

this makes me more hopefully but also more depressed.. either they had planned to use this or they just cut it and got sloppy by leaving the files on the disc.

lets just hope its not the last

Bumping this since it's key content cut necessary to understand what's going on in the story. I mean seriously, how could've this been cut? Without it, no one has any idea how did the squadmates teleport to Normandy

Of course that still doesn't explain why was Joker running away from the wave later on (since blue and green waves DON'T damage any technology other than relays) but yeah

Whoa, just saw this.... Incredible... A shame Bioware didn't include this :(

To call this game full as is, is a lie. They should have asked for more time to properly end the conclusion of a trilogy... C'mon Bioware, you should know this.

Where did you find that?

BioGame_NonShip_INT.xml Starts at line 57710.

I don't see that anywhere.

And I'm looking at it right now...

Why is there a dialogue from ME2 in there? "I am a biotic god" etc.

That's it then. So, with the indoctrination theory in mind, I see the true ending now.

Shepard gets grazed by Harbinger and is knocked out

indoctrination attempt, Shepard picks destroy and shrugs it off

Shepard wakes up

Harbinger knows he failed and is about to fire at Shepard again

Joker rides in and says these lines, and kills Harbinger while he's weakened from being on a planet

Shepard enters the beam

Shepard reaches the Crucible control and locks onto all Reapers in the galaxy and it fires millions of homing beams and kills every Reaper and husk in the galaxy, no relays are destroyed

everyone wins, Reapers dead, celebration

It's obvious why these lines weren't used. There was nowhere to put them in the scene as it stood.

Alright so basically BioWare ran out of time to keep working on the game, EA wanted it out too soon even after the original delay, and we ended up with lots of cut content, a small portion of which might one day end up as DLCs.

I take it that's the gist of it.

I must have come in this thread too late and I've been trying to read it at lightning speed but especially as an old fogey I can't exactly understand all the technical jargon and all that . is there a way someone can explain all of this to me in terms that don't include file extensions I don't understand and crazy code embedded text ? This looks rather exciting and If someone could be so kind as to help this non-tech savvy-only-signed-up-for-BSN-for-Retake old fogey so that perhaps I can understand and share ? Or is there a post I overlooked that basically interprets this for me ?

Edit: Like for example what's a Designer cut and all this ??

Y'know, the one thing I've learned from this mess? If I ever get to work on a game, I will insist that we finish the ending FIRST. (or at least after we finish the first stage) Would it be difficult to make sure the rest of the game stays consistent with the ending that's already written? Nope, because we'll have finished the script first and know exactly where we're going.

This would be the kind of cliché ending that people will quickly forget, simply because it makes too much use of a deus ex machina. While the Crucible is a deus ex machina as it is - the current endings still have severe consequences in using it.

It's the Starchild, not the Crucible. Read the article you linked.
