Now that its mainstream, i hope everyone will do their part and stay civil.

to be honest it all depends on biowares response to all this... if they even say the smallest thing to them thats a big deal to us wrongly, i think it will get dirty... they're treading on egg shells atm.

but right nows its being very civil, creative and responsive ... people are actually writing there own endings and coming up with new idea's and we are actually banding together civily without getting dirty to try and make a difference to our experience...

easiest way to settle this is change the last 5 minutes or add to it. that simple.

Not sure if this is big enough to be important to you guys.  But they've got a fanbase on youtube, anyway.

I thought it was pretty fair to us on the other side without being too insulting.  The guy in the middle used  the old "journey" argument (Psst: A lot of us loved the journey) but wasn't a huge jerk about it

Another article here at Robotgeek and a well balanced look at things though in the end the author plunks down and sides with the 'add another ending.'

I love this part from the kotaku article:
"
But the development of a creative work cannot be democratized and its revision to appease a vocal minority would surrender the creative freedom people claim to value in food fights over modding, takedown notices, trademark disputes, whatever. This is an expression of the writers and designers at BioWare, and if you dislike it, OK—there is certainly a lot of legitimate criticism of the outcome. But it is their statement, not yours. "

So true.

At this point, I honestly don't think it's a minority.

Unfortunately, Punk4Real can't register his game (major problem for a lot of people it seems) so he is unable to update the first post.

We'll have to read the articles as people post them now.

By the way, the poll has about 34.5K voters now. Only 2% like the ending.

Thanks for that. One of the best pro-gamer article.

Mentions the endings at the end, and give some insight into the problems with it.

Hope to see what BioWare says about the 30K voters for the new ending; but most likely they'll shrug it off.

Personally its the best ending proposal I've read so far. Moved me quite a bit...brilliant stuff.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Even though this ending makes nearly infinitely more sense than the current ending... idk it still turns the Reapers into a way dumber villain than they were built up to be.

If it had been possible to defeat the reapers, what is to prohibit  some species millions of cycles ago from having done this when the reapers's numbers were actually manageable? Fighting the Reapers's full force *should have been* like flicking millions of paper clips at  hundreds of tanks--not going to do jack--thus the inevitable need (from ME1 till now) for some sort of super weapon. However, this might be the easiest rewrite.... unfortunately.

Still, even if bioware "fixes" the ending, the people who are happy with the current ending will be upset and the people who feel betrayed by this will never forget this and I doubt we will ever fully recapture the glory of the Mass Effect universe because of this.

I hate to say it but a lot of it is negative attention. Basically a lot of people out there think we are throwing a fit like spoiled brats.

even my friends who never played ME series, heard about ME3 endings being unusually weird...

now tbh i think the poll should be edited. People only look at "Endings suck, we want a brighter one." part and skip the "reflect our choices" part. So they just think we're bunch of people who want rainbows & unicorns.

Who cares? BioWare is the only company that matters. Let em talk.

Forbes and other articles support us. Amazon reviews support us.

I know that. What I'm concerned with is that BioWare will do what most humans do and only listen to people who support them instead of people who understand where we are coming from.

I do have to say that most the people who think we are going to far have been people who haven't beaten the game yet, they are also the ones who started witht the name calling and general assholishness.

yes but ironically we are the ones being ALOT more mature, creative and responsive than the articles supporting bioware are as they are calling us things that we are not saying we are acting in a childish or spoiled bratish mentality when infact those articles and the people who right them are in infact being childish and immature etc etc.

half of them havent even played the series, so they dont understand, dont get upset because of the way other people portray us, pitty them for stooping so low as to protect there corperate dollar over quality of thought. no worries.

Still an interesting question. ME is to be a movie (unless they ultimately drop it). ME1 makes a solid movie but absolutely requires another and another (this has AT LEAST trilogy written all over it, if not bigger to do the idea justice). How the HELL do you end a movie series with the current ending? It's like ending the final movie with

I doubt the movie will ever get off the ground at least you know a real release not some second class anime thing.  Anyone know where the right are currently residing?  Might want to let them know how unhappy the fans are.

the supposed difference is supposed to be that there was no cooperation within the previous cycles, even the protheans didnt have cooperation as they had a "slavery" system apparently so they were forced to join the "prothean" race or face the reaper alone.

I hope that something is done to fix the ending situation.

As its stands now Mass Effect 3 is, imo, a wounded masterpiece. The game is brilliant and has only a few minor problems. The only reason its not the best of the 3 is that it shot itself in the foot in the last 5 minutes.

^ I agree with this. Its not like fans are asking for a complete overhaul of the entire game. We're asking for a few more options to be given at the end and thats only because we love the Mass Effect trilogy. Yet for some reason, reviewers of several websites feel it necessary to provoke fans into angry responses by shutting down their opinion and writing them off as a 'whiny but vocal' minority. <_<

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but IGN put on a video of Colin Moriarity commenting on all of this, and he's certainly not on our side.

This is turning into a bigger F-up than Mass Effect: Deception.

That's because discontinuities in a book that maybe 100k people read is nothing compared to a kick in the quad to well over 4 million people experience.
