"What right does someone have to demand changes to the end of a story they did not write—and as this would, assuredly, be released as downloadable content—expect all of that labor for free? Because they'll refuse to endorse a product they've already bought?"

Yeah, when I got that I was just like "Really? Are you serious?" Then I remembered the rest of what I'd just seen and realized they were.SolidBeast wrote...

In fact, I'd say it cheapens it greatly.

Cheez, can I quote you in what I'm writing on this? Because the points you made are spot-on perfect.
She's pretty good about that. She's a War Asset for the campaign.
OKAY. SUDDEN FRAMING IDEA.
SKY, EVERYONE. CITE MEDIA ATTENTION, WELL-WRITTEN ANALYSES AND THE LIKE AS WAR ASSETS. DO IT.
And when you boot it up for information it's got that Wrex avatar and everything.

As I've noted, Mass Effect should have multiple vastly different endings.
This is our story, we should get to chose how it ends.
I'd say the endings staying as they are would be an excellent real life lesson for you as well.AdmiralCheez wrote...

Bioware, are you trying to teach us a lesson here? We have real life for that, you know.

And at least 20.000 people on the BSN want a better ending. 88% on a pool. I think it means something.
Yeah, we truly have something epic growing here. I have hope something good will come of this.
Of course we are ! Join the fleet ! Maybe we cant win this fight but if we stand together it can work !

Punk4Real, thanks for bringing this to our attention. Four more sites? You're a regular Sherlock Holmes!
The poll has grown to over 20K people in only a couple days and still only 2% like the ending(s). 2%!!!! That's effectively zero.
/lol statistics
Heh, the poll is probably not a representative distribution either, but statistically speaking given a 2% like rate with over 20K voters, it would be almost impossible for the majority of all ME3 to like the endings.
It would seem BioWare would like the majority of purchasers to like the ending. That's just good business.

I was pretty dumbstruck. Doesn't help that I thought the ending was a dream sequence from the point where Shep gets up from the ground at the beam. That was just an additional slap in the face afterwards.

Various sites have begun reporting on the general fan unrest regarding the endings!
We're finally getting some god damn attention, lets keep at it folks!
- Digital Spy
- Destructoid
- Game Front
- Kotaku
Owen Good at kotaku thinks we're a bunch of morons (he wrote the article on twitter) and said we're in line with "Battlefield" fans. As a BF3 fan/community member and a Bioware community member, his comments really pissed me off.

The problem with this comment is that this author negates how consumers actually has a say on every product. If the consumers don't want it, it doesn't get sold, and if it doesn't get sold, company loses money, money goes, jobs go...etc. Of course this is a simplified view, but a consumers review matters...regardless if the consumer didn't manufacture the product themselves...Tho that would negate the point of paying someone for goods.

The only thing I've learned here is to not throw so much time and money into a single branch of the corporate enterainment sector.Kaiser Shepard wrote...

Failure? Disappointment? Loss? I've learned that. Come to terms with it. But it's fun to play a game every now and then where you can tell the inevitable doom of everything to go choke on its own dick.
If games were just like real life, there'd be no point in playing them.

Don't dare speak that name!!!! It's driving my mind insane!
Seriously, it's funny though that a couple - Kotaku - especially want to paint this as though we literally just want everything changed to suit us, when those who do support simply want more variety as was promised. Many have even said - I would agree - that if they did make an epilogue DLC they'd pay for it.
But yeah, currently sits at more than 20,000 in support, I think.
