I fail to see the things you described apply to to this whole ending business.

Sorry, I assumed you were trying to attack and belittle me for my personal morals and outlook on life again.

You do that a lot, so I'm kind of on guard around you and get pretty snippy pretty fast :/

Ok I tried tweeting Owen Good since atm kotaku is the biggest thing we have let's see if it helps.

@owengood TY for covering ME3 ending debate. I feel the coverage was over the line in attitude, could we get a fair update. Willing to help

Maybe it all the others on twitter do something similar it'll help?

Kotaku and its webring sites tend to share more in common with blogs than most other major reporting sites for their respective coverages, IMO. It works for me with io9 but Kotaku just kind of pisses me off with it. But it doesn't hurt to try.

Yeah, Reiner did, but a lot of gamers there don't like the way it ended and have been trolling the blog feed. A couple have defended it.

Oh, I see. I haven't followed it closely after the review has been posted.

Also: did I just see Kaiser Shepard call the story of ME3 amazing? This must be a dream or some kind of alternate reality.

Ain't gonna happen.

I highly doubt it will happen... but I'm shocked at the overwhelming amount of people and the press this is getting.

I wouldn't say it was impossible though. I wonder how bioware feels about all this.

I wonder if this will turn into a sopronoes like situation. Same reaction to the series finale, but now people claim it's an awesome ending.

You know, if someone had told me a week ago that Kaiser would be defending Bioware and Cheez would be attacking them, I'd have said they were crazy.

Desperate times call for Kaiser Shepards.

But he's on the evil side...

Oh, I'm not so bad... once you get to know me.

Buit you've been indoctrinated by Bioware. Just like TIM (and surely you can't have liked THAT part of the ending).

Sure there would be. RPGs are essentially living and choosing as someone else, mundane situation or not.

The fact that you are someone else means that they're not just like real life, doesn't it?

If they were like real life the choices you've made throughout the games would matter more, and there would always be an alternative possibility that you could've tried (even if in real life you wouldn't get the choice). What we are presented with is simply one possible outcome, and it's a long way from being the most plausible one (some aspects of it are more so than others).

This ain't gonna happen, and I think it would be a waste of their time anyway. Look at what you do wrong, and move on. That's all they can do.

My boyfriend finished the game last night... and refused to talk to me about the ending.  That seemed ominous and odd considering how much we were both enjoying our play throughs.

Fast forward to me finishing the game today... and I am left nearly speechless.  It feels like a movie where the producers cut up the last five minutes and added in some scraps from the cutting room floor.

I sincerely hope that the creative forces at bioware and EA make an effort to salvage the ending of their trilogy.

They can change things if they want and it seems, to me at least, that it would make commercial sense for them to do so.

This fight won't be easy I think we can all admit that. The odds are heavily against us but it's not hopeless. Many people, some familiar faces even said Bioware would never address the Deception debacle but they did. So for now we hold the line.

I'm at the point of speaking to the Quarians in the campaign.
Will I really rage that much when I see the ending? Because I just can't believe it is as bad as everyone say.
As for now, the game is perfect for me, I just can't picture the moment I'm disappointed with it.

Any exposure is good. And I feel the articles that are lambasting us fans as being 'entitled' are quite frankly wholly ignorant of the situation. They're just armchair stereotyping.

Fans against the endings aren't against it because it isn't what we 'wanted' or because we feel entitled to an ending that suits our opinions. We want an ending that is deserving of what this great franchise means to us. Mass Effect deserves better than what the ending gave us. The current ending is an insult to the iconic social/cultural/artistic status that Mass Effect as achieved.

And I just love the people who comment both on those articles and on here who say that we are idiots are hating on BioWare and that they love the game...even though they havent finished the damn game yet. Just give it time my friend...you have NO idea what you're in for. You'll be joining us soon, don't worry.

Many people before you have asked the same thing. Typically the answer is "yes".

I haven't scanned the whole thread, so forgive me if this question has already been answered...has Bioware said anything yet concerning the general outrage over the endings?

I think they need to add a ending where Shepard try to find the Dragons Balls and ask Shenlong to destroy the Reapers.
MUCH BETTER ENDING!!!

The hilariously bad part of the game comes in the last 10 minutes. Until then, you can enjoy the ride.

Maybe you'll be part of the 3% that like the endings. But in my honest opinion, the endings ruined the -entire- Mass Effect franchise for me. I had three other Shepards waiting in the wings to be run through the game after my first one, and now I can't even bear to look at the game or turn on my console. It still hurts far too much.

This whole thing reminds me of Misery, where Kathy Bates'
character grew so furious that the protagonist of her favorite books was
killed off, she held the author hostage until it was rewritten.
Obviously, a Facebook page is a little less scary than smashing a
writer's ankles with a mallet, but the passion is still comparable.

Baaahaha. I remember this movie. Going to go watch it on youtube.

I believe they're still waiting for the rest of the people to get the game and finish it before addressing concerns that would spoil the game for people who haven't finshed it yet. They have commented on Twitter though that they are reading and are aware of our concerns.

No, and it seems unlikely that they will before it's had worldwide release (which is fair enough).

Up untill I saw the endings I thought:

"Hey... I generally gravitate toward the more film noir and socio-realistic stuff anyway. I like tragic endings".

But... seriously. The plotholes should yank anyone straightout of suspension of disbelief in an instant. Its quite frankly staggering. Unless I was turned into a Muppet I dont think I could have left "Shepard" behind faster.

Going head to head against BioWare in a race for media representation?

Heavy risk... But the Priiize..

I kid, but seriously, I support this thread, we need publicity notice, this is a good place to keep track of the 'War Assets' we have gained. ;)

Yes. Trust me, I felt the same. I thought, "Ha, everyone's just overeacting like usual, silly internet!"
And then I played the ending. Without the end, the game is an absolutely brilliant masterpiece. With it... the depressing ending outweighs all the good that ever happened in the rest of the game.
