I just launched the game and in the main menu, before you can do anything, the sign of "connecting to EA servers" was taking a long time. Then suddently, without me touching the controller, the console went into the "quite game-turn of system-turn of controller" screen and it froze.
It's the seccond time this happens to me, anyone else??? (as I know bioware will just keep ignoring the Ps3 technical issues forum)

sounds more like your controller has a button sticking or is dying. The controller is the only way to bring up that screen, game would have nothing to do with it.

I second that, I had the console freeze also while connecting to EA servers 2 or 3 times ... I had to do an hard boot for that ....
I answered a few post about that to TRY to get Bioware attention .... it seems they aint to present on these forums ...
