Why I believe Wynne to be the Best Companion Ever

All the above and more are reasons why I absolutely adore Wynne. I genuinely felt there was an honest relationship between her and my PC - very much a back and forth dialogue involving me sometimes, her sometimes, and events other times.

The other companions sometimes hit upon this as well, but in general none were able to master it and bring it alive like Wynne.

I probably could never attempt a playthrough that excludes/kills her or gains her disapproval because I would miss the interaction too much.

Wynne is fabulous. So supportive, caring and wise. Plus, she isn't jaded and is still young at heart in many ways. Some of her conversations with Alistair made me laugh out loud. Wynne is a delightful companion, not to mention a kickass healer.

Wynne is great. When she told me she was tired of having lived so long, and that once this was all over she was looking forward to a peaceful end somewhere I really wanted the dialogue option 'Noooooooooo (fall sobbing into Wynne's arms)

Wynne annoys the hell out of me.

What's even more annoying is she's practically imperative for any good party.

Indeed, Wynne is extremely annoying. I hate her. She thinks she's smarter and wiser than the PC and she shows it. The OP provided the perfect example: when you disagree with her, she just laughs and says she was once young too. Think about that for a bit.

Everything she says.. just ugh. I hate people like her. Wanna-be wise and intelligent when everything she says is just stupid.

She's a useful asset but she preaches more than a chantry sister.

I had her in group on my first playthough with my human rogue, and to be honest she seemed (to me at least) to be the only character (and of course morrigan) that 'felt' real. What i don't understand about this game and what i thought should've been in; was having the other companions give gifts to me (i don't count specs). I've given tons of books, flowers... etc... to my other party members for nothing in return, just doesn't seem right. Hell my favorite part of the game was when morrigan gave me that ring so she could keep track of me (reminded me of an old high school gf), I loled and felt a heart jerked at same time.

Not true, I'm playing through with a 3 rogue party + Sten (2h warrior) at the moment, and you should see how fast a room clears with that many bombs (mostly these) and traps being thrown around. Lol!^_^

I really really like Wynne even more so than the useless Morrigan. It does not matter what class i play (i have 5 now) i always bring Wynne even if i am playing a mage. Tank, off tank, DPS, Wynne (healer) and that is how i roll over everything. Wynne is probably the MOST under rated character in the game, she is not b####y like Morrigan, sanctimonious like Leliana, she is the voice of reason in unreasonable circumstances.

Wynne is very useful with all the buffs she is able to provide. She is also very kind and wise but, at the same time, boring.

Ahh.. I liked talking to Wynne but didn't overly want her in my party that much because I didn't think it would make for that much humor.

Of course, I had Zev in my party, too. And then I was proven wrong.

I don't know how effective Wynne is. She's specced as a healer, and I find you don't get much benefit from healing on nightmare (what good is it to heal 50 points of damage when the enemies take that off in 1 or 2 hits). I keep her around because she doesn't complain as much as Morrigan and eventually you can get her some good spells, though Morrigan starts with a better spell list.

I find her a little annoying, since I don't care for the Chantry, but she has a certain dignity about her that makes her easier to accept. The whole abomination angle does make her somewhat interesting but the game doesn't do much with it. I also think she's the only female companion that you would want to associate with, given the alternatives of the insane and hypocritical Leliana and sociopathic Morrigan.

At first I though Wynne to be more "in my way" than helping me, but after I gave her the Arcane Warrior specialization she absolutely rocked. Wouldn't have survived the end battle without her.

Wynne has a funny in-combat line.

Wynne: "Do you really want to be beaten by an old woman?"

(Darkspawn watches in petrified form as a stone fist shatters him, killing him in one hit)

What a relief it was to find her as I first played through on nightmare mode (yes her healing did keep me alive Lord Phoebus). I'll go to the Circle Tower first on every consequent playthrough!

haha, that is a good way of putting it. Yeah, maybe if I didn't have Wynne to talk to, the second game would start out with my PC sitting in a shrinks office or something.

she's even more awesome when you spec her Arcane Warrior and she gets finishing moves on, say, an ogre...  old woman in blood dragon plate with a sword leaping up onto a monster and stabbing it repeatedly = AWESOME.

She's an abombination. Granted from the union of a spirit rather than a demon, but an abombination none the less. Assuming we believe it really is a faith spirit or whatever. I can see some characters calling her on it, especially a templar. But that's not an option.

Wynne is not an abomination... an abomination is a demon + a human, not a spirit + a human. It's been said many times there are spirits in the Fade, not just demons.

I like Wynne's philosophy in camp. I thought she would be boring to talk to at first, but then she had some amazing quotes.
