There is definitely a good reason why you can't necessarily 'continue' unless they do something like Arrival. Bioware stated well in advance that this was the end.

Ah... Let me see if I get it: The op refers to play after the events of ME3 and not after finishing the game?

If it's about that... Well, it's kinda impossible considering how the game ends.

You might as well play Fallout 3 or New Vegas if you want to carry on Mass Effect 3 after completion.

not really,not for this game.

theres scope to have a continuing game on galactic proportions.

but so very few people want that.

Frankly they could have done a way to play some DLC to complete the story of Shepard like tying up loose story ends like they tried to do with DA2. Even DA:O had DLC you could play at the end of it to wrap up your Warden's story. ME3 could have gone the same route but didn't. This is another reason why so many fans are upset. *shrugs*

I really liked Liara in ME3 i hope something good happens to her. I would not mind the current endings IF Shepard was with their LI. Alive.

Not really sure what playing after the end would do anyway. All the side missions that are actually playable revolve around preparing for the final battle. After the ending, the side missions involiving Cerberus and all that would just be moot points anyway. All the planet scanning revolves around gathering resources for the final batlle. Again, after that battle, there is no point in any of them.

it's not other games where you have side mission unconnected with the main plot. This game, everything is connected to the main plot, so I'm not even sure what you could do after the end if they made it playable. Especially given the circumstances of how the game ended. There really is no way to realistically continue playing after the end.

strongly agree i mean after romance u cant even invite her up to ur cabin after ME2 ending you had alot more interaction with ur LI
