i dont get it...why do my ai friends seem retarded i mean right now im trying to save garrus on instanity difficult yet the slim ball seems to not care about taking cover and what gives with his health going down so fast...i love playing games on insane difficult but stuff like this drives me nuts. i would even consider this a bug. so many other games out there have similar things, you need to save so and so but at the rate garrus health goes down and manages not to get behind cover seems a bit retarded.

Garrus is one of the easier squaddies to go down in combat, yes. Jack, Jacob, etc. also die fairly quickly, especially on insanity.
My advice for you is to level up his passive ability quickly, as that will maximize his health/shields. Also, you're going to have to start directing your squadmates about where they should take cover, etc. You can get away with leaving them to their own devices on lower difficulty levels, but on insanity, you have to start thinking tactically. Use your squadmates powers effectively, direct them to take cover if necessary, and don't hesitate to use medigel if necessary.
