Since I'm apparently incapable of getting 2da editing to work properly (I can't get the xls to become 2da) I figure I'd try it here

I'd like for the mage class to be open to the other origins so I could be a Human Noble Magi or Dalish/City Elf Magi

And it'd be neat if every class could also get the Deft Hands/Improved Tools/Mechanical Expertise/Device Mastery talents

I did try something similar to this and got it to work but....

one problem is in the single player campaign it seems the script checks the mage class for the mage-related options rather than the mage origin (i.e. if you go to the mage tower the script treats it as if you were from mage origin even if you were Human Noble Mage). Maybe I didn't do it right but that is one problem I found :s

Do you know if you still get the ordinary human noble/dalish options? If so that'd be something I could live with until it can get improved

Are we allowed to post links to other forums here? Until I know for sure, I don't want to take any chances, SO, if you go to the Dragon Age Nexus, you can do a search for "Adopted" or "All Spell Can Learn" and one of those might prove useful to you. "Adopted" supposedly allows any race or class to start the game with any origin. I would read the description carefully. And then "All Spell Can Learn" seems to allow any character to have all the spells and talents, so basically, a rogue might be able to cast magical spells. Again, read the description carefully. I think both mods should be used with caution.
