I was dissapointed by the me3 ending but in my opinion, the true ending was the last 45 minutes. The last conversations i got to have with the characters i cherished most was more important to me than the last 10 minutes with the catalyst. I've been reading peoples comments, they say there was no explanation to what happened to each character, but i see those last convos as a completely satisfying explanation to where they stood.  The mere fact that I spent the next 3 days thinking about everything i'd accomplished and experienced, proves that this was an outstanding trilogy. that being said, i could care less about the last 10 minutes being dissapointing.

Disappointed. A *lot* rushed and didn't seem like anything I had done made a difference in the end. Felt corralled into an extended cutscene, like the game ended and I just watched the end... of another game...

There is ZERO chance this could Not have been anticipated.

True...but not to this extent, and not for the reasons listed. There was always going to be a polarized reaction to this ending. It was just a matter of why.

Therefore this leaves Two Possibilities.
1. They wished to alienate their fan base (this seems unlikely).
2. They KNEW this would be the response (and look forward to PAID DLC to "Fix" it).
No other answer is remotely possible (minus gross incompetence). Again unlikely.

Perhaps in seeking new gameplay possibilities and trying to expand their audience (EA seems to promote this...see "one button mode" in NCAA Football 11), the team was left with the task of trying to make a blanket experience that was just incapable of pleasing everyone.

Edit: The blanket experience being the implementation of the "Action" style narrative resulting in a linear storyline with minimal outcomes.

Well, i have been looking into other possible endings but one i've given interest so far is the whole "indoctrinated shepard" thing.. Tho i dont see what difference it would make in the end? If shepard really was indoctrinated and he/she woke up in the rubble of london, who sais he/she isn't indoctrinated? I would rather have a "happy ending" and get my little blue asari children or move to rannoch with Tali... My oppinion though...

My first response was that I didn't exactly understand what just happened, I wanted to know what the choices I had were again and understand them more, but no. You have to make a choice right away!

Also these plot holes made me really sad.

Overall - dissapointment and confusion.

But the rest of the game was 10/10 !

Btw i've looked over my earlier statement and whilst i agree with BioWare, that a way to end shepards story was ultimate sacrifice i do believe and cling to the hope of this happening... (Deviant art picture, no nudeness or adultery)

I'm with the picture on this one, Mass Effect 3 should have ended that way. I mean really, why should Shepard have make the ultimate sacrifice, REALLY.

To expand on this. I did not spend all that time making sure I had a Shepard that I was 100% happy with, doing every quest, getting full Paragon and uniting the galaxy throughout the course of 3 games just for him to make the 'ultimate sacrafice'.

To quote a friend "Bioware, were is my damn Ewok party".

Really, really confused. I actually had trouble figuring out the end of the game, and what I wanted to do. So I guessed and did what my friend told me to do. Went online, read some ending analysis's, and immediately regretted ever talking about it to my friend (because he influenced my decision...thus not truely the ending I would have came up with). /sigh

Not worth doing a second playthrough >.<, the ending was terrible. Especially after seeing that the only difference between each was a slight change in the hue.

Or that lovely retierment house on Intai'sei at the end of Pinical station. John and Kaidan would have a wonderful time.

Disappointed/expected. Disappointed because I 'expected' more from a story so good. Expected because ME 2 ended so badly and after how terrible Blizzard became after it started really rolling in the money, I couldn't see it ending well. Interestingly, through time I'm more or less convinced the ending was appropriate (if the Indoctrination theory is true). In which case only the red ending AFTER waking up in a pile of rubble is absolutely beautiful. However, I still would like to know the outcome of all that war. Just as a historian. BUT, the lack of clarification regarding the ending just murders everything to do with Mass Effect. Especially as it was before coming Gears of War.

My thoughts -- Bioware, how dare you?!
But obviously, the see it differently. They know the logics behind it, because they've created it. They know how is it really. But fans don't.

I didn't like anything about me3 compared to the 2 previous games. I felt that they did pretty much everything wrong. The ending however ruined the hole franchise completely, and I'm sure I will never be able to play any of the mass effect games again. Truth be told, I know that it would turn out bad, or at least was worried about it because of da2, and we all know what piece of crap that was. Its a shame, because i really liked the 2 first games, hence i even had 4 play throughs of 1-2.

Disappointment, plain, bitter disappointment, not even anger.
