For me, if they don't change it, Bioware never sees another cent of my money, and I had intended to buy all DLC on day one, as well as any future titles. If they put out a "fixed endings" DLC right now and priced it the same as the entire game, I'd buy it, just for closure...without it though, I'm done. And I thought DA2 was a vast improvement over DA:O, and have been enjoying TOR too, though it's cancelled now and won't be reactivated until we get real endings for ME3.

Honestly guys I'm with all of you demanding a change but lets be honest they don't HAVE to do ****. They can just say that is the story they wanted to tell, simple as that. I mean despite all the polls and threads, twitter posts, and outrage I am a realist. 20,000 people are not a majority and yes there probably is a giant silent majority but if they dont voice their opinion then nobody cares. It's like everyone who complains about COD each year yet it tops sales records each year, most people are gullible.

So what happens if they dont change it? What will be your feelings then and what are you going to do?

Honestly for me if there is no change in the ending I think this will be my last BioWare game. This is something I never expected to say let alone think of especially since I enjoyed DAII. But honestly ME3 gave me a feeling in my stomach I have never felt in a video game EVER, so I just cant trust a company that can play with your emotions like that. The only other series I have felt such an emotional connection to was MGS and MGS4 ended perfectly for me, it might have been a cop out "happy" ending, but I cried and felt good about it. Even if Snake died at the end and there was no final BB scene I still would have been happy. But ME3 is like Snake failed and died, Patriots won, and we dont even find out what happens to any of the characters.

Well in the immediate future, they'll get no DLC purchases from me for ME3.  A lot of other people probably won't buy any DLC til they fix the horrible ending.  Best case, this is all the loss Bioware will suffer which isn't too bad from their business perspective.

Worst Case, they could alienate a lot of their loyal fans hurting their future sales of other titles.  Personally I was very dissappointed in DA2, so they got no DLC purchases from me and I probably won't buy DA3 if it ever comes out.  If they don't fix this I surely will not be buying any future ME related games.  So now 2 of their IP's are now dead to me (unless they fix the ending).

If the DLC does not significantly alter the endings, then I simply won't buy it. If I want to take pot shots at Cerberus or the reapers then I'll play the multiplayer. I will not pay $10 to take down another ultimately irrelevant base. If they decide to leave the ending as is, I will leave their products at gamestop and tell my friends exactly how I feel about the series and the company as a whole.

How is it petulant to state that you aren't going to support the company financially anymore? If the quality of the product is clearly slipping, why should someone continue to support the company? This isn't the playground, it's business. If I can no longer assume that products coming from Bioware will be worth the price, I'm not going to buy them. Nothing petulant about that.

Honestly, I didn't bite on DA2, thankfully. I really only bought ME3 because of the time I had invested in ME1 & ME2. None of the news surrounding ME3 leading up to release gave me any confidence.

I think it's more in the manner of expression--the "THIS ENDING WAS SO BAD, EITHER THEY GIVE US A FREE ENDING OR I DON'T BUY ANYTHING ELSE FROM THEM EVER"--than the sentiment, that the poster is calling people petulant.

I buy bioware games since Baldur's Gate One, and they will surelly lost a costumer if they don't. Still, we can try to mod the game to make a better ending. It has been done before.

If they don't change it then mass effect will be forever tarnished in my mind.

A real tragedy for Bioware and for the medium.

Yeap, I consider my move to be nothing more than saying that either you give me the acceptable deal or the deal is off. It is in my absolute right to do so, unless someone is pointing a gun at me (and let's not discuss about that). I've been patient with the Bioware's recent.. problematic game products.. and pretty much have lost most of the faith in any of the EA titles; As I've said from other countless posts I see no reason to not do what I've done with Maxis, Activision and EA Sports unless I see some clear evidence that they've cleaned up their act.

I'm pretty much resigned to the thought that there will be no alternative ending.

to which i say, i'll just platinum the game on my PS3 (i only got like 4 trophies left) and put the thing away for good.

could of been awesome. really could of been an amazing ride.

but knowing that it all ends like that. After everything that happens. that is what happens.

BS..

-----------------
To add i'll just copy and past something i wrote on my blog.

Someone said to me if was going to boycott Bioware games this was my response:

honestly it's not a matter of boycotting Bioware for me.
that's not the point.

but i feel like i got burned with Dragon Age 2, especially considering it's ending (it ends the same regardless of what you do). then Mass Effect 3 - easily my all time favorite sci-fi series ever - just does the same ending all things considered.

It's like dealing with an abusive emotionaly manipulative partner (girlfriend/boyfriend), things can be good for a while but there is always poison at the end.

At one point or another you STOP the relationship all together.

Not because Bioware products are bad, Mass Effect 3 up until that*platform goes up to meet the god-childis amazing. but rather there is no emotional pay off whatsoever in the end.

life sucks then you die....

I first discovered Bioware with Mass Effect 1, i pretty much followed them extremely closely up until now with Mass Effect 3.

I am no fairweather fan, i bought the books, the comics, got the freakin' hoodie and lithographs of Tali and Legion, i bought the collector's edition of Dragon Age : Origins, Mass Effect 2 and 3. Hell i bought Mass Effect 1 and 2 on PC/360/ and even PS3 at one point or another.

This is how monumentally gutted the feeling i got from the ending of this franchise.

It's not a matter of boycott, i'm just done with Bioware.
They can pull off pulling your emotional strings very very well and considering how the end their stories. yeah it sucks... a lot.

----------------
I'm just here venting. I got real world stuff to do, and this universe was one of the very few things in fiction that i was emotionally invested in and it was amazing up until the last 5 minutes then it blew big time. That's ok though, life moves on.

After a few days after seeing the endings, there is this odd withdrawl sense of "ok... i'm done' and by done i mean Bioware. for reasons i gave just above.

I don't say such things because they're usually childish and meant to be simply be hyperbolic and usually when people say such things they don't REALLY mean it in the end.

There is just this odd sense of silent withdrawl with me.

ma'a salama (Arabic for peace be with you)

I think this is one time when Origin will be our friend. When EA sees that everyone boots up the game, plays obsessively for 40 hours and then never opens it again, alarm bells will start going off.

I pretty much disliked DA2 and didn't buy any DLC for it. I'm not buying any DLC for this game because I don't feel there is any point to playing for more useless "war assets." I don't play this game to shoot things or to dress up in fancier armor, I play because I'm invested in the characters. If I know nothing I can do will change their fates, why bother?

Then Bioware will go down in history as "that one company that almost made the Star Wars of the 21st century and then ruined it in 15 minutes."

Grandpa, can you tell me another story about "the Bioware?"

If they don't change then my copy will sit on my shelf. As for the DLC for this game they can forget it. The casual game surfing audience will have moved on and the hardcore fans for the most part won't bother.

It's been good while it lasted but I have to break off this relationship. I won't get anything by EA Blackbox (for screwing up every single Need for Speed entry they made in the last few years) or BioWare (for messing up DA2 and ME3)

I'll just continue to imagine that the Indoctrination Theory is trufax, buy any mid-game DLC that's good and hope for the best when Dragon Age 3 comes out. I'm not so upset or angry that I'm like oh grr no more Bioware games ever, but I will remain forever critical of the ending.

If the endings stay the way they are, then Mass Effect goes down in history as the incredible epic trilogy that had one of the best beginnings that anyone could have asked for, remained strong and enthralling through all three games, and fell flat on its face ruining everything during the final 15 minutes to eventually die away slowly and painfully.

Not to be over-dramatic or anything, but everything ME related will go into a box that will be stuffed into a closet somewhere. Right now, it all feels like a lie. I wouldn't say that I'll never buy a Bioware title again, but it wouldn't be a day one purchase.

If it's not fixed, and I don't expect it will be, I'll finally have lost faith in Bioware. I've long touted to friends how great their games are, from Jade Empire and KotOR, on through Mass Effect, their greatest work (IMO).

This bizarre, Twilight Zone ending, though, is hard to understand. I'm not saying I'll never buy another Bioware game, but they've lost their place on my pedestal. I'll not go into a Bioware game assuming greatness, again. I've learned my lesson. :(

I couldnt agree with you guys more. Bioware really dropped the ball real bad. I do wonder what they intend to do with this game in regards to dlc, but if they dont provide better endings they can really forget about my buisness of helping them stay in buisness. Now im getting sick of the 3 percent of people who liked the endings saying there just " to mature and deep for the common person to grasp" mature?.....deep? In what possible way i ask? Oh well lets all just hope bioware makes this right
