Upon learning of Morrigans intent to have an old god as her child the maker sends his own through the heavens in a ball of fire. The child is picked up by a loving couple and raised as their own.
Both He(supes) and She(goddess) later cross paths in a most epic confrontation of both wit, will and might.
What became of the two I leave to your imagination.

Good times and 2,3 children?

They had a great battle and fell to the earth where they lost their memories.
They lived as human mortals, and eventually joined up with a female holy warrior from Orlais and her annoying boy assistant.
This holy warrior eventually becomes the Overlord of all demons and goes on to annoy and fight a blue haired kid in shorts, a large red haired man with an oversized tie and a demented student of demonology who likes experiments.
Anyone who gets what the hell I'm talking about gets a cookie.

You play as Sandal to conquer the Taint, and in the process find Morrigan and turn her bi, allowing you to have a happy trio relationship with her and Leliana. Sandal also resurrects Duncan to be his tutor, learning the legendary Beard Fu. In the final climactic battle, the Golden Archdemon removes his clown makeup to reveal that he is, in fact, Sandal's real father, Shoe, and he also knows Beard Fu. The raging battle between two Beard Fu masters cannot be ignored, and the Maker turns back to humanity. Thus, Sandal saves the entire universe.
He defeats his father but is usurped by Duncan.
Sorry, the Beard fu just gave me a jade empire vibe.
I had trouble deciding whether to go with Beard Fu or Beard Form.

Duncan is a son of one of the daughters of Flemeth.
Morrigan is a daughter of a daughter of Flemeth.
Therefore Morrigan and Duncan are siblings.
Flemeth is also a Grey Warden.
Lelianna is the sister of the wife of Maric (who was from Orlais) and therefore Alastair's and Cailin's aunt.
Baelin's consort is the sister of the dwarf commoner who also happens to have had a quick fling with the hero of the dwarf noble origin and is pregnant by the dwarf noble, not by Baelin. Yet neither the hero of the dwarf noble origin or the hero of the dwarf commoner origin have ever met each other and do not actually exist at the same time.
The grandfather of the innkeeper in Lothering who was a Grey Warden also happens to be the same individual who had a fling with Flemeth and therefore is the father of Duncan and Morrigan.
He also happens to be a relation to Levi's grandmother.
Incest galore!

Or, we find out in the last scene that Ferelden and everything in it exists only in the imagination of Sandal.
(bonus points for anyone who gets the reference)

^ Where is incest mentioned?
It wasn't directly but the general premise of my post is that everyone seems to be related to each other.

Actually you know Flemeth MIGHT be a Grey Warden, since Duncan mentions only a Grey Warden can remove the seal from the treaties.
That or dragons smash through everything.
Yep, that was my thought too. Although she said the seal's magic had died ages ago... but yes, Duncan said only a Grey Warden could unseal it... so maybe she is a Grey Warden.
Also, she can sense the Dark Spawn, it seems.

She could have enthralled a GW. And she seems to be able to sense almost anything.

How does the seal know who's a Grey Warden? Their distinguishing feature, obviously.
What's their distinguishing feature? Archdemon blood in their veins.
Who else has Archdemon blood in their veins? Archdemons!
What is Flemeth likely to be, being a shapeshifting dragon? An Archdemon, or more accurately a cleansed Old God.
Hence she can open the box.
Not a stupid plot twist by the way, sounds fitting to me.

But I digress...
Yes, that does indeed seem feasible that she could be a shapeshifting dragon/archdemon. Does that therefore mean Morrigan can also sense the darkspawn?
As it happens, do all the PC's sense the Darkspawn? I've not got that far yet, mind you.

What I think, maybe, is that Flemeth might be an Old God, but a betrayer. She betrayed her other siblings to the Maker, and was allowed to live as a mortal, unbound but limited by the lifespan of a mere human. But she discovers a way to keep herself alive, at least through her spirit, and continue to do so.
But she probably regrets having her siblings tormented by the darkspawn, and only but recently learned how to free her other still living siblings, and so sent Morrigan to help the Wardens in hope that she could save them from destruction!

I say Dumat since it's the only old god who's name isn't long and forgettable.
Anyway, back to stupid plot twists.. uhm.. uh... Zevran is in fact a woman!

Morrigan is actually Flemeth! Flemeth thinks she's Flemeth because Morrigan hypnotized her into thinking so!
So, who is Morrigan if Morrigan is Flemeth, whilst being hypnotized by herself to think that she is Flemeth?

At the end, you've got several choices:
1. Kill Kitty.
2. Drive out the demon. Then, if you have Leliana in the party, you can give Kitty to Sten as a pet, because he's such a softee. Sten, being Sten, renames Kitty to Cat.
3. Add Kitty to the party, causing Dog to leave in fit of whining and angry barking.
#2 will open up new conversations for Sten (related to Cat) and Dog. See Dog chase Cat around the camp. See Cat curled up sleeping next to Dog, much to his embarrassment. Includes a side quest for Dog, where you learn when he was a puppy, he was routinely tormented by a cat. Help him find closure on this issue (and land the girl dog).
For #3, Kitty will have great conversation options, like you can ask Kitty if she sees anything interesting (Kitty ignores you), who is a good kitty? (Kitty ignores you), feed Kitty (Kitty turns nose up at you, wants gourmet food), splash Kitty with water (Kitty vicously attacks you and you lose standing with Kitty). Kitty, while being a full party member, cannot be told what to do.
