Trying to wrap my head around it all-that is the only damn thing I can come up with.  With all the forshadowing from ME1 and 2 about dark energy and higher purpose of the Reaper's and such.  For it to boil down to this is just nonsensical.

Joker makes a comment about how do you know your not still in there?

The whole game gets twisted around synthetics rising up against thier creators to destroy them-strangely.

The endings all wrap around how Shep ends up handling the created artificial life question.  Maybe-just maybe it was a scenerio the Reaper infested consensus and geth cooked up to judge Shep's, and organics in general.  Maybe-the final battle has not taken place yet....And he is still jacked in.

Hell-I don't know, just grabbing at straws here at this point to be honest.  At least it makes sense-sorta
