Well, i searched the forums and could not find a simple answer to this question.

Will Dragon Age run on high end single core CPU's?

(Athlon XP 64 3700+ (2.2ghz))

My GPU is up to date.
Low settings will be enough, just no money atm to upgrade my computer.

I was wondering this too. I'm getting it for PS3, but was curious how it'd run a P4 3.6ghz.

You should be able to play. It may stutter in CPU-intensive situations.

In theory a dual core CPU is required; in practice a single CPU won't prevent you from running the game. Unfortunately there's no demo and the character creator isn't a good benchmark for the game (unless it runs critically slowly, in which case you've got your answer).

Thre is thread here with some benchmarks. Seems the game is is fater (like 19%, if i rember right) with a quad over a Duel core of the same speed. So im geussing if you can live with a lower rez, some details shut off (ok, alot of details shut off). it shoudl run, but I hate to say it bu thtts not a high end single core.. was a rocking one about 3 years or so ago. And yes I understand the upgrade problem (money and all that). Good luck, i think it should play. I may suggest skipping a game or two and upgradeing ($100-$150 and some used parts and you would be rocking a top end machine).

Not anymore. The system requirements were updated last week. So an A64 will be okay, though I expect P4s will still struggle, since they were never very good for gaming.
