I feel that alot of the issue with the fans vs whinyfans camp, is that those who think we are acting entitled have not been as emotionally involved in the games as we have.

Bioware has screwed itself over with this game series, because by writing such an amazing story, having such engaging characters and creating one of THE most iconic main players they have set the bar at a level they have completely and utterly NOT reached with the ending. The story was a modern day work of art for sci-fi, it took what was bad about current sci-fi of the time and completely re-wrote it, bringing a sense of realism and heart to the cold dark depths of space.

They managed to create such an engaging story and atmosphere that playing it became an addiction, and not just playing it once, playing it several times over to see the many varied actions and reactions and endings. It is the only game where you choices have a massive impact upon the story, an impact that you feel with every fibre of your being. There was much humour and love, and you could tell that there was real effort and dedication put into crafting these games, the creators truly showed how much they themselves loved games by making this perfection.

And then that ending...

It is as if we have been in a relationship with someone only to be told, after 5 years, that they do not and never have loved you, before punching you in the stomach and leaving you without so much of an acknowledgment.

I kind of feel sorry for the people at Bioware, they must feel like absolute crap that something they loved a ton, and created so well has been ruined by the big bad EA ****s coming in and telling them to do things this way or they are out. They must feel like crap, because they know in their hearts that this as an ending to Mass Effect is not worthy of the original story idea they dreamt up. They must feel like crap because they let themselves down, and i hope they feel like crap because they have let the very people who adored their work down.

Bioware, you had a glory age with SW:KOTOR and Mass Effect 1 and 2, but i am out.
