Ranger pets have been discussed in various threads, I have myself voiced the concern in regard to various pet abilities. But Bioware has stated that the ability to use f.ex. overwhelm with the blightwolf due to the quick message which shows "new tactical options available", this is a bug and not intended by the developers.

The blightwolfs abilities are drawn from a template and if you are quick you can access them all from the quick message which appears after the summon, the blightwolf is however only supposed to have two abilities at its disposal, the two shown in the quickbar.

I believe Georg mentioned this would be fixed in a coming patch ... so no more overwhelm for wolfie as intended, and thus he told us to enjoy it while we could.
