What happens if BW stands by the endings? How does the series move forward?

Lets say BW is firm and says the endings stick and there will not be DLC of another ending. Given how the endings were how would the series go forward with more games? It seems kinda destructive to write those endings and having a universe so rich with information be undone to the point where you might as well not even bother with this franchise and make a new IP.

Lets say the true ending is Shepard taking control of the Reapers. The Citadel is destroyed along with the Mass Relays. How does any new game go forward with this? I just don't see how destroying the Mass Relays solves anything for this franchise. These endings leave nothing left in this franchise to do anything with. Did anything come out of the discovery of the Raloi?

Your thoughts on where the franchise is going if the endings stick?

I realize no one wants to think about this. I really don't but I fear for the worst.

Would you really want the franchise to continue after they pulled this crap?

No Mass Relays, no Citadel, no Mass Effect. Even BioWare's master storytellers would be more likely to maul a polar bear to death with their big toe than salvage this plot without a little retconn.

It'll move on without me paying attention to it that's for sure.

I don't think they have any plans for the series to move forward. These endings pretty much preclude any future games in the Mass Effect universe.

I'd say quite a bit of lore retcon and faulty science if they decide to move forward. :/

However it moves forward, if they don't fix this, it's moving forward without me.

Same issue as DLC in the third.  You will have the knowledge it all ends poorly.

I believe if they do an ME4, which I think EA might demand. They will set it in the future in a time where galaxy has rebuilt. Shepard will be nothing more than legend lost to history (Stargazer points this out). We will be a new protagonist on a different journey.

Only I will not be participating in this new alien universe.

Clearly they want a 'clean slate', and writing the events for the next series is too much hard work. So too bad Shepard, you sacrificed because bad writing.

I know how I would move forward; by never buying another Bioware product again...

Well they loose a lot of diehard fans. I know folks who abandoned Bioware after KOTAR 2.

Even if they would move it forward, you have the earth destroyed by both reapers, the destruction of the citadel, and the super nova of the relay.

If anything, I see the "good" control ending moving the series forward. It still sucks, but while the Reapers and mass relays are gone, it's the only ending that leaves the Citadel intact. If it stays in Earth orbit, the multispecies fleet that surrounds it could not only rebuild Earth, but relearn the technology of the Reapers over time through studying the Citadel. Now that everyone knows what its true function was, I imagine there won't be a scientist in the galaxy willing to kill any Keeper they see in order to get to and study its core systems - all the moreso now that Shepard's...conscience? Soul?...whatever, would be controlling the station instead of the Catalyst, and he'd probably be a little more forgiving on people willing to study the Citadel than some ancient, omnicidal AI.

I would imagine any content that we would get in the near future (video game.MMO,Comics) would be placed around the War in ME3 much like the Clone Wars in Star wars. . .its been 10 years and we are still getting content from that time.

What ending? I don't understand. My game finished with the destruction of the Cerberus HQ and the death of Kai Leng!

My ending had the commander gasping for breath,so he lives and every alien around earth want's is head for destroying the relay's.Then there will be infighting on who is going to pay for everything and how you are going to find your "joker lost in space".

I find your assertion plausible but unlikely. Analysis of the data suggests TIMESKIP in the fashion of TOR or KOTOR 2 to be far more likely.
