I mean seriously, on lower levels these things are one thing but once I bump up the difficulty to either hardcore or insanity these things just destroy me. Right now I'm using a infiltrator and I'm dieing like five or six times before I can take these things down. Anybody got any strategys I can borrow to make my life a easier?

Run away. Have Liara with you, so you can use warp. Grenades are also helpful.

^ I tried cloaking and running to cover but they always just do their biotic jump and close the distance so fast it doesn't seem to actually help any. Not to mention it only takes one or two hits to Liara or the other squad mates to take them out, so they really don't help that much.

Yeah i always keep running from them and using other team mates as bate

If you level up your squadmates with health and barriers in mind, they can all be pretty close to tanks towards the middle of the game.

Garrus' mine ability is really effective on them

all i used was Javik's dark channel and liara's warp and adrenaline rush as a soldier and they were pretty easy to take out.
dark channel for the long DoT
warp for the barriers and since dark channel is biotec, the detonation
your choice of high damage weapons ( i used the javelin and saber) with adrenaline rush since it boosts your damage and slows down everything to get in a headshot to bring her barriers down with one shot

Ugh... banshees. I hate Asari... and I hate their husked form too...
I've got nothing new to add - I run from them while forcing my teammates to take them out (I fire when I can)

They made the damn things too strong, on my first playthrough I used infiltrator too and I was scoring headshots on them with a fully upgraded widow and it would take away at most two or three bars of health.

Overload is really good against banshees' biotic barriers.

killing banshees is all about power spam, not weapons. they take very little weaopn damage

I rarely ever have trouble with them anymore, I don't know why, they just aren't as hard as they were when I first started (Almost done with my first playthrough on HC). What I do is have Garrus hit it with Overload, Liara then hits it with Warp (Weakens it), and I whip out my Revenant with Incendiary ammo, turn on Adrenalin Rush, and go berserk. Usually they die a little after the Adrenaline ends.

not if you go for weapon damage armor and mods like i did (which was about 20% from intel upgrades and 50% with 5% headshot from armor). with the combo i stated above, they die by the time adrenaline rush ends. i also forgot to mention that i have warp ammo which does about an extra 10% weapon dmg than incidenary ammo (warp does 40% and incidenary does 30%)

There is one mission where you have to fight like seven of them while dodging Brute charges at the same time. **** got crazy for a bit (was playing Adept)...
Edit: that was insanity, your mileage may vary on other difficulty levels.

Generally what most people have said. Warp and Dark Channel do really well. AR makes things a bit easier, but it comes down to running a lot for me and keeping my distance as best I can. I try to keep something between me and a Banshee at all times. What really hurts more than the Banshee itself is a lot of the time, you have to do all this dodging and running for cover while other enemies are shooting at you. That makes things a lot more difficult.
Also, keep an eye out for heavy weapons. Sometimes those are lying around and you can use that to one shot the things. Not always, but sometimes. It's best to use AR if you do happen to find a heavy weapon though, because you only get one shot, and those things like to jump all over the place.

Also: The Falcon. Get it, use it, love it.

Dark channel works wonders on them. They only teleport when they have barriers; when they're down to armor they're sitting ducks and dark channel suppresses their barrier regeneration.
Also, an M-920 cain works beautifully against them.
EDIT: As an infiltrator, take marksman as your bonus power, then take the bonus power evolution of tactical cloak. Cloak then hit marksman. A heavy-hitter sniper rifle, plus infiltrator sniper rifle bonuses, plus marksman, plus tactical cloak bonus damage will drop just about anything like a champ.

Hmmm, everyone has a different experience with Banshees. I played as an adept and I had Javik and Liara, I basically used a singularity, stasis, and dark channel. Then I quickly spammed warp. Seemed to work well.

I just spammed Warp+Throw detonations on the Banshees I met; seemed to work rather well, though it still took a while to take them down. They've got ridiculous amounts of barrier/armor.

Javik+Liara.

Overload the barriers.
The armor is tougher. I like warp/incinerate. The thing about banshees is they don't kill you....at least me. But they make you get out of cover and the other enemies kill ya. So I usually just concentrate on the other enemies first.
