Here's an other fov fix: https://www.widescreenfixer.org/
It's actually the new widescreenfixer version. You don't have to mod the Coalesced.bin anymore. It's singleplayer only to avoid ban.

Changelog:

Final version of the FIX IS NOW OUT

Features included:

- Proper scaling of menus

- Centered HUD

- Workbench fully functional

- Main Menu correctly scaled and working

- Adjustable FOV for Single Player - if you change the fov while ingame, reload the savegame.

- Disabled FOV for MultiPlayer to avoid BAN

- FOV is adaptive. No need to toggle. Cinematics are working properly.

- Recommended value for fov 85-90 - You can increase up to 120.

- SUPPORTS ONLY ORIGIN VERSION!!! IF YOU HAVE ANOTHER EXE it will NOT
work. Don't bother reporting here, nor asking me to support hcrachked
EXES

Not Fixed:

- Character Scaling in Menus.

- Probably it will not work with Eyefinity. Needs to be seen.

ACTIVATE THE FIX DURING INTRO CINEMATIC, NOT SOONER, DO NOT RUSH WITH THE ACTIVATION!!!

I really enjoyed fixing this game. Now is time to enjoy the game in GLORIOUS Surround. I hope you will like it

See pics bellow:

Best Regards,

Helifax

i have fixed fov by editing ini file. Works great. Why this isn't a standard feature is beyond me. Takes 1 minute to put it in there.

Yeah it works too. But this fix doesn't need you to edit the .bin file and you don't have to toogle different fov for cut scene.

When you said editing the ini file it's actually the bin file right? Because since the game need origin i'm really scared about trigger a ban on my origin account for those basic tweaks. If it was a simple .ini we wouldn't have to be worry about those potential BS from EA.

Please Bioware get us back the BIOInput.ini and the leave MP variables in the Coalesced.bin!!

Thanks. Looks like very nice application. I have two questions.

-i dont understand, widescreenfixer? Is widescreen support broken in me3? Certainly looked ok in the demo.

-is this some kind of injecter app? In this case its a higher risk program to use than a modded ini. Well maybe not for me2, but i dont know what Origin is looking for, if at all. It works in BF/CoD? Thats hilarious, must be pretty cheat infected games. So far it looks like all EA is doing it looking at the irregularities of the online account, so modding the ini should have the same consequences as with this program. Ie none, unless doing some stupid stuff.

Has anybody actually tried this in multiplayer? I'm curious, because I don't think Origin checks for stuff like this.

Thanks for the info. I don't understand why some recent games don't take into account 16:10 screens.

Thank god for this. I would get dizzy and sleepy with the current FOV.

It's a Field of Vision fixer, not an actual widescreen display fixer, it states this in the header of the post, which you must have clicked on to get here, how did you miss this??

Either way, thanks for posting this OP, so sick and tired of the crap FoV, just hope I don't get banned along with my other EA products for doing something the lazy BW devs couldn't be ****ed to do. If I do, well, see you in court EA.

It's a fov fixer but also a widescreen display fixer. On 16:10 screens like mine you get black stripes on top and bottom of the screen. Using this allows the game to be displayed on the whole screen.

Originally the application is used to get the proper aspect ratio for widescreen users (eyefinity and nvidia surround, 3 screens users) that most recent games don't provide. I don't know if ME3 support eyefinity/surround properly since I'm single screen user.
Each games have its own "plug-in" in the fixer and the ME3 plug-in also allows to change the fov (it's not the case for all games supported by the fixer) so it's usefull for single screen users as well.

The fixer doesn't inject anything in the game. It does the same thing as the .ini (for the fov at least) but in the program memory. And i'm pretty sure it's in the non-executable memory (just in the data part of the RAM used by me3).

The fix doesn't work in MP to avoid potential ban.

Sorry I couldn't find it anymore but it must be there.

Umm, I have 1680x1050 resolution and no black strips anywhere. It is the same engine as in ME1 and ME2.

I don't get black bars.  Are you sure your resolution is set properly in the config utility?

True. My bad.

Although I see those stripes during cinematics and dialogues. The soft doesn't fix it anyway so it's only useful for fov.

Does this still screw up cutscenes?

If you modded your FoV, you'd see more than you were supposed to in cutscenes (messed up animations on the sides of the screen etc)

No this fix works well with cutscenes. You don't have to switch between different fov.

I can confirm this works without messing up cutscenes or dialogue. Only issue is sometimes when you die it resets back to default FOV. The fix is to quit to main menu and reload the save.

Screen comparison (first image is default fov, second is 90 degrees):

It doesn't seem to be changing anything for me. I put FOV 120 just to be sure and it's def not 120.

Am i missing something?

edit: nevermind, i just realized that it had to be enabled during the intro screen...

Sorry for being dense... when exactly do I enable the fix? Is the intro screen the image of Earth with the astroids fallling and the ME3 logo?

I can't seem to find the right place. Every time I enable it it messes something up (no options on the menu screen, no elevator buttons, etc...).

Cheers!

You have to hit * when you see the bioware or ea logo but leave the entire intro, it's working with me at least.

This is probably a stupid questions, but does it affect combat? I'm not sure being zoomed out will make my aim any better ;).

Edited to add - is the default FOV 75?
