I usually ignore most of the negative posts on this forum, there are so many examples of people getting all worked up over trivial things and honestly when all the threads started to appear regarding the ending of the game i dismissed them as just more trolling.

having just finished the game an hour ago I was horrified to  see that the forums were right on. the end was just a dagger into the heart of this franchise, i dont know any other way to discribe it. After all these years of to have that as an ending is just heart breaking

I wasnt expecting Shepard to fly off into the sunset with Liara on the Normandy after saving the day but tthis.... there just arent words.

So increadibly disppointed

The only good news is that you aren't alone, for whatever that is worth.

My roommate was ignorant about the rants he was hearing until he beat it today and he is now agreeing with the status quo. Usually most of the criticism I hear on BSN on the other games are often taken way out of proportion and ridiculous even to myself but I can assure you that ME 3's ending was a serious screw-up on their end.

Haha, I had the same story. A friend told me he heard the ending sucked. I was like, whatever, I don't want to hear it. I wanted to finish the game. Yeah...

I think everyone dismissed the claims and said, "It can't be that bad." Only to realize it really is that bad.

It's great that all the warring factions on BSN can come together and all hate EA/BioWare equally for killing a great game 10mins before it was over.

Yeah, when I was playing the game I kept thinking, "This is great, those people criticizing ME3 must be trolls." And then I got to the end and was like -_-

One of the biggest things that helped, though nothing really helps, is knowing I wasn't alone in my feelings of just... well, a broken heart obviously.

You are now reading this in my voice.

Your approximate reaction has been experienced by a majority of the concurrent posters of BSN. I will have security double-stamp your card.

Heh, you know back when the forums exploded over the leaks I basically convinced myself that none of it could be true or if it is it was only the partial truth. I wanted to see for myself as soon as I bought the game; after all, sometimes people tend to only target the bad things and ignore the good.

I wasn't expecting a super happy ending either where everything was fine and dandy, but I did expect at least a bitter sweet ending where you did everything right by doing side quests and making the right choices (not just in ME3 but in ME1 and ME2), you go in guns-a-blazing, maybe somehow survive but at a great cost to all of the fleets and any planet that was attacked by the reapers. Yet there is that glimmer of hope that life goes on and people can rebuild as Shepard, their LI, and squad (if any survive) look on.

But nnnnnope. Didn't get anything remotely close let alone a proper ending/epilogue that shows the consequences of my actions from all three games. Not to mention big gaping plot holes and my efforts being rendered moot. If BioWare wanted a bitter sweet ending as the best ending, I would have been fine. If they also wanted a very sad ending, that's fine too. There are plenty of video games, literature, and movies that do a good job at that where they had a good overall story and a good ending to boot. Instead we got something that was depressing but in a very bad way.

I too ignored it, I thought "how bad can it be?"  especially since the game to that point had been amazing.

Same thing, caught some gripe over the endings thinking, well they must be interesting to say the least, maybe I will like them. Instead I am left confused, angry, depressed and heart broken. 20 year old male, and ill openly admit I cried. Just couldn't wrap my head around how they could do something like this.

Why do people keep bashing those of us that weren't happy with some of the design decisions in ME2?
You keep calling us trolls and haters, but you don't seem to recognise the hypocrisy in that you're now doing exactly what we were doing (for the most part, i'll admit there were a few trolls), albeit a little less knit picky.

I'm currently talking to a friend who says "Yeah, I'm on Rannoch and so far it's awesome! I know you've been right before, but I just don't believe you man. Maybe you did something wrong in your playthrough."

I feel so sorry for his future self. *cries*

No, they changed it at the eleventh hour. And it shows.

I had the same reaction. I'd hear a lot aout the endings, but chalked it up to people not getting their standard happy ending. That didn;t bother me, since I wasn;t expecting a "happy" ending anyway. I was hoping for a bittersweet, Shepard dies, major collapse of some civillizations, high casualty deal to be honest. It made sense to me.
Then I played through, and it hit me like it did a lot of other people. It's not that the ending is sad, it's just that it totally devalues every choice made in the previous games.

Ha, I was in the same boat. Figured it couldnt be "that" bad. Yet, they somehow make da2's ending look good.
