The production treatment of her character was really bad compared to ME2. Maybe it was my video card but her 3d model almost looked like a caricature of what I remember. Big hair with weird body proportions. It made the camera angles that constantly focused on her a** seem contrived and a little ridiculous. The voice acting was uninspired. I didn't feel that engaged with her character.

This makes complete sense since she is a minor character in ME3 but it was a very disappointing romance option. She wasn't present most of the game and when she was, it didn't seem very sincere. I remember thinking "that b****" when my shep woke up alone the morning of the big battle. The poor guy was going off to sacrifice his life to save humanity and his girlfriend wasn't even with him on his last night alive. It made the ending seem even more desolate and barren.

Also, I didn't see any of this coming since I was asked to make a choice a few hours into the game. Liara or Miranda. On my second playthrough now with Liara. I feel like I'm playing a real sequel now.

I think Bioware should have just written Miranda out as a romance option like they did with Liara in ME2. It makes a big difference on the gameplay experience especially with such a bleak ending.
