You are right to keep an open mind and be skeptical. Unfortunately, we are not trolling you. (We wish we were.)  It really is what we claim. The reason why people are upset is because up until the end the game delivers on our choices beautifully (as you have experienced). It just makes the outcome that much more jarring.

Sure - that works if you view the whole of ME3 as the ending - but as far as the actual ending goes.

Choices do not affect the endings - beyond whatever imaginative creative galaxy you want to create in your head during the credits - which is then nullified by the short scene after the credits.

A high score (not choices) gives you an additional piece - but the choices themselves have no affect on how the endings play out.

Fair enough, but I don't even feel like I'll be able to weigh in on the ending (after I beat it tomorrow), if there are multiple endings and I'm only seeing one possible conclusion. And for the record.....has anyone beat it twice to see the Games Plus ending?

There is no secret NG+ ending.  You can actually get this particular ending variation in a single playthrough...but it pretty much requires playing multiplayer.  If you don't do multiplayer, you would pretty much need to use the NG+ mechanic so you could transfer over your previously earned points and build from there, thus making enough points to get this "secret" ending due to your base 50% readiness rating (if I understood the mechanics correctly).

And yes, I know what this "secret" ending is, and all it is is a minor variation on one of the three endings...and it ultimately changes nothing as the endings and epilogue stand.

Pretty much what Amikae said.

Your choices affect tons of things in ME3, from the minor NPC interactions to the major conflicts. But the ending erases all of it. None of it matters. None.

This is not hyperbole. This is not trolling. It's the truth. Everything you've done is negated and the laws of ME3's canon are basically ignored. It's almost the worst way possible to end the series.

Really, we have 17 trivial variations of 3 minor variations on one primary ending. 

Basically you go from "everyone dies" to "most people die" to "some people die" and Bioware is counting that as 3 distinct endings off of one "well, the primary ending is accomplished with Door #1"

* Strike one: Relays always destroyed, with all the ugly implications.
* Strike two: Normandy always marooned, with all the even-more ugly implications.
* Strike three: "Best" ending has Shepard live, forever separated from crew.

I love how some people don't even finish the game and want to try and be smart. Um, maybe after finishing it and seeing it for yourself then come and comment. I don't care if you like it or hate it. Just finish the damn thing.

I just know im at the end so far the game has been better the first two in practically every way. So even if the end is the worse thing I'd ever seen, if Tali's face is (keeping this spoiler free), If EDI is now a (spoiler free), if they decided to add multi-player, and if Ashley Williams as a heterosexual female decided to OH MY GOD change her hair, and anything else people want to complain about, doesn't take away from the fact that the game has been extremely enjoyable and 95% great and the culmination of one of the most ambitious undertakings in video game history creating a trilogy that allowed a character and choices to carry across three games. But who knows, maybe the reapers will turn out to be the Hamsters for the Kia commercials and dance on our graves to LMFAO and I'll rethink that. But even then....it's been a hell of a ride

That may be only 3 endings, but I loved them all^^. I freaking love this game. I can't get more readiness and so on since I don't play MP, but I believe I got a good ending. The green is the way for me=). I only wish I could see how life became after my Shep saved everyone. I wanted more information about all races. That is the only thing lacking for me. The game is epic with a few small flaws. I'm going to my third play though now=D. I only wish MP was separated from the main game. Not all enjoy MP.
