Just going by what I read. And I'm curious how many times have you guys beat it in order to know there aren't "THAT many endings"

 wiki is a terrible place to get any reliable information at the best of times. Anybody can post anything over there, and most of what's up now is probably reliant on pre-launch press releases from the company.

At least half the people complaining thought like you do until they got to the end and found out for themselves. We've all played the game to the end, and you can go look up all the endings online if you want and you won't finad anywhere near 17. That number is inflated but without spoiling it for you, which you have requested we not do, we can't tell you how it is inflated. Just play the game til the end, and believe me, you will understand. Now, you may like the endings, but you will understand why everyone is saying that there are only 3 endings regardless. We honestly can't explain it without spoilers, and since you don't want them, I can't really tell you anything more about it.

There is no special NG+ ending unless you're refering to the Stargazer post-credits scene which affords nothing to the  game, story or ending in anyway shape or form.

It actually causes more questions...lol.

there are 3 ways of ending this game (each one sucks by the way...)
the whole ending clip are divided into sections... look into the movies folder. u find 14 peaces which together result in the end clip u see ingame.
3 clips for 3 colors for the first pulse > 3 clips for 3 colors where we see reapers in London >
2 blue (citadel survived) 1 green and 2 red clips (green/red = citadel dead) where the sphere hits the reapers in London > 3 clips for 3 colors where the portal system dies...

In truth there is 6 endings. 13 are Synthesis, Control and Destroy. 3 Earth blows up with those three if you got a crap score.

I'm bookmarking this thread so I can see it when you realize that the ending is just as bad as we say it is.

Also, you get the "NG+" ending if you import a Shepard, which means damn near everybody has seen it.  And as to your question about how we know that all of the endings are bad, and not just the one we got, I've got one word for you: youtube.

There are hundreds if not thousands of endings if you count the number of ways that Commander Shepard's armor can be configured as well as the number of color combinations. And then there are the crewmen that appear at the end!

Wow. This game has THOUSANDS of endings! Perhaps changing the primary color of Commander Shepard's armor to BLUE will please you more?

Seriously, guys. Only one route to end the game. Up to 3 categories of endings to choose from. Several subcategories of far less significance. Even more minor variations of no real surprise (like your love interest making a quick on-screen appearance).

it's 3 endings that are all slight variants of each other and then theres variants on those endings that are dependant on ems not on the players actions leading up to them. so in the end everything you did is meaningless as it does not alter the outcome of the game

No, it's more like clicking on a youtube video with the words "drunk" and "fail" in the title.

You more or less know what's coming, but you want to see it anyway because maybe it will be a particularly outstanding example of schadenfreude, and even if it's not it'll still be pretty damn funny.

Read the list of endings on IGN. The endings for "Destroyed Collector Base" and "Saved Collector Base" are almost identical.

I actually explained it to a friend of mine, today, who hasn't picked up ME3 yet, but enjoys hearing about the story ahead of time. He went from "I don't believe it. Bioware wouldn't do that." to "What the ****!?!" to "That can't be it. That can't be the end of Mass Effect!"

This is after I told him to come up with what he thought the worst ending possible could be. Bioware's ending actually topped it.

hahaha funny! Would be interesting to ask more people about it and get the same reaction xD
