In fairness, if you'd read the game had 17 endings, were still playing the game, and hadn't been spoiled wouldn't you think people complaining were a bit bonkers? The rest of it is so very, very good.Kloborgg711 wrote...

So it's been reported that there are 16 endings...plus one more if you import a games plus finish after you beat ME3. Now for all the people complaining about the end, I'm curious how many endings have you seen, and have you seen the game plus finish. Or is all the hoopla because you didn't like the 1 of a possible 17 outcomes that you happened to get.....and thus think Bioware sucks
SPOILERS INC:
There are three endings(if you want to call them three, I call it one.) , Spartan091. Like others have said, the tiny variables that are adjusted are so miniscule, and in terms of the end game cinematics, they alter 5 seconds most.
In the end, you still had to reset the cycle and threw the entire, connected universe into an relay-void anarchial dark age.
You will still have Quarian/Turian/Krogan/Geth/Salarian/Batarian massed fleets stuck in the Sol system; the Quarians and Turians dying out due to the lack of Dextro-amino food bases. (The Quarian Live ships will sustain them for a few months perhaps, but without the Hydrogen-3 biproducts for fertilizer, it won't last. Similar to our Nitrogen biproducts we use in our fertilizer are biproducts from fuel and oil.) And that's if you saved the Quarians. The Turians will die within weeks otherwise. (All fuel depots and refineries in and around the Sol system can easily be assumed to be destroyed.)
Your crew will still be stranded without your Shepard on an alien planet.
And ultimately, your Shepard will typecast himself into walking into one of three beams, that as far as the epilogue tells us, shoots either a blue beam, a green beam, or a red beam; all the while taking the variable of choice out of the user's hands. The Shepard at the last 10 minutes of the game was NOT my Shepard.
But, I derailed a bit -- those 17 endings? Yeah, six of them involve Anderson living for 5 seconds longer. Long enough to say "you did good".
One ending is Anderson "saved" (for 5 more seconds..) and choosing the blue laz0r.
One ending is Anderson "saved" and choosing the red laz0r.
One ending is Anderson "saved" and choosing the green laz0r.
One ending is Anderson NOT saved and choosing the blue laz0r.
Yeah, see how this goes? 17 Endings is a false statement. In terms of the evidence the game gives us, we get one ending with up to a conserative estiimate of ~25 seconds of lightly varied; mostly recycled material.
If changing one tiny thing amounts to these 'different' endings, then if I add one teaspoon of sugar more than a recipe calls for to a batch of sugar cookies, then they're not sugar cookies at all. They're something else entirely, if Biowares' definition of 'different' endings is to be believed.

There are 3 possible endings. And all 3 lead to the same hollow conclusion: The Mass Effect Universe is forever dead and gone. Our efforts were all ultimately in vain. There are a few variables that affect how you experience the ending, but calling it "17 possible endings" is misleading and just plain false. They all essentially lead to the same ending, which is what has us on the warpath.

The NG+ ending is the Stargazer which you get the first time around if you import.
The three endings differ in the level of destruction, the color of the explosion, and that's pretty much it.
Only one of these endings lets Shepard live and that's if you have the maximum EMS but it's very 'blink and you'll miss'. On top of making the ending even more bizarre and nonsensical.

2) Blue
3) Green
4) Die on collector's base
5) FAIL
6) Rage quit
... I refuse to call a blackened corpse moving an ending
No, I am not satisfied ... stimulation without release is actually quite painful.

"I noticed thousands of people over a period of two weeks seem vehemently against the ending. I read on a website that there are lots of endings. Maybe every single one of you just happened to miss that."
Oh yeah, you're right. Everything single one of us who complain simply picked the wrong ending, and before bothering to look into whether there was an alternative, we registered accounts to write 3-page essays detailing our despair. Just like the infamous forum flood of 2010 when thousands of angry ME2 players converged into BSN to complain about how terrible it was the Shepard's entire squad had to die during the last mission.
I'm trying to figure out if you're being sarcastic or not. you really had to work to get the everyone dies ending for ME2.
*cough* Since I was here in 2010 and can verify there was no flood of angry me2 players with dead squaddies I'm going to go with sarcasm.
... actually there were a lot of people annoyed that it was so easy not to lose people.. well as long as you were a completionist and used your brain when making suicide mission choices.
