After reading through a lot of the posts raging about the endings, which I do agree are FUBAR, I spent a few mintues thinking about it. My thoughts took me back to the previous games and DLCs. Specifically, Arrival. Now, if you played it, you know that blowing up a Mass Relay effectively ENDS all life in a system. And at the end of Mass Effect 3....you simultaneously blow up EVERY RELAY IN THE GALAXY. So, either the Reapers end all life, or you do. Also, why the hell is the Normandy even using the Relays at the time? Isnt there, oh, I dont know..a BATTLE GOING ON A EARTH, WHICH THE NORMANDY IS A PART OF?
Now, for a series that preaches how 'story driven' it is, and how 'the players choices change the game', the ending is pretty damn linear and broken. None of my previous choices mattered. Before you attack the Citadel, Hacket mentions that Harbinger is coming to stop you. And then thats it. Who cares? You never see him, never talk to him, and he has no purpose in Mass Effect 3. Also, the genophage cure. Sure, lets see the krogan take over with no Relays. Geth and Quarian working together? Too bad they wont be getting back to their homeworld.
But dont worry, the majority of the galactic forces that are left are all in the Sol system. Engaging Reapers. Near the Citadel. Which is close to Earth. And all of this is within the blast range of an exploding Relay. So, you just effectively ended all life in the universe. Great job BioWare, you really thought your endings though. All 3.....1 of them. Because face it, its all the same damn ending, just with different skins. One is normal -EDI. One is normal +EDI. And one is fancy tech skin + EDI. Great job! You ripped off Deus Ex! *clap clap clap* You have the choice to destroy all tech, cop-out and let the galaxy decide, or control the tech.
FIX THE DAMN ENDINGS.
ME3 Endings are broken simply by logic.
