Totally off-topic, but your avatar makes me so nostalgic, LTD... :P

Ahh no reason to settle with nostalgy!  BG I makes an awesome game even today, as long as you throw in a couple of pretty essential mods. :wizard:

It's just that I'm still a huge Xzar fangirl up to this very day... He was awesome, just like Minsc and Edwin. I really should do another playthrough of the Baldur's Gate games...

Aaaaanyway, I better stop going off-topic now. XD

Got to say that im impressed by the female posters in this thread. Maybe there is hope for the species yet.

@OP : You can try and hide but weirdos are everywhere on and offline, by segregating yourself you just make yourself a target.

I hear this a lot, and it's an incredibly frustrating view (though I can understand how it got started).  A lot of feminists that I know personally (including myself) are feminists because we want both genders to be treated equally.  There are feminists who believe in women before men, and while they are welcome to travel down that road, I am just as welcome to feel mildly uncomfortable around them.

I think that it needs a new name, though: whether or not the word "feminism" has been indelibly tarnished (which I think it has), its very name is somewhat divisive.  I'm not sure what it'd be replaced with since "equalist" sounds rather clumsy and vague, but I'd rather be known as something like that.  And clumsy and vague also sums me up quite well, now that I think about it.

@Gotholhorakh: As far as I know, nobody's mentioned 'prying' and 'intruding' thus far...Just the general idea that it's a bit odd to have a BSN-clone for women only while BSN in itself has shown thus far to be neutral on the field of gender treatment. Or maybe I have missed something, could also be an option. :P

With respect, I'm not sure what sort of response to make to this, since you chopped out the exact part of my more general point which applied to the posts in this thread about sexism.

"Wanting to intrude and pry into such things or "put a stop to them" is not egalitarian"

OP, maybe you would have more success if it were just a female oriented site rather than "NO MEN ALLOWED PERIOD OR YOU GET PERMABANNED!" If this was a male poster suggesting a no females allowed site, I'm sure this thread would already be locked. The "No boys allowed!" approach is not only offensive, but also quite childish.

Seriously? How do you prove you're female by filling out a form? And what's the purpose of a female-only community? I'm female myself (though apparently I don't know the "secret handshake" or whatever), and I'll stick to the co-ed community. But thanks all the same.

I have to wonder what kind of form could possibly prove whether or not I'm female.

Am I the only one who thinks the OP might be actually be a G.I.R.L.?

Seriously, OP can't prove they're not a man any more than applicants can - maybe he just wants to round up all the ladies on one site and do the creep. LOL.

This also crossed my mind.

I could send in a copy of my birth certificate.

I wouldn't mind if the guys had a male only subgroup. I like the OPs idea.

Can I join? I'm not a girl, but I'm not really a guy either :P
All silliness aside I'm not sure if it's a great idea or not. I mean, it's far too easy for someone to just fake being a girl to get in, you know? And there has to be a better way of getting girls together, other than just making an all-girls site.

What is the aim for your site? Why would you not want males at all?

I'd understand a secific forum, but a whole site? It just doesn't make sense.

So they can talk about cooking and babies?

Seriously though if it floats your boat go ahead and make a all girl forum. Not sure what you expect to gain from it though.
