I didn't see whether my squad mates were alive, didn't see them die or the bodies... Was hoping for being waken up by one of them. I took my favorites - Liara and Tali (wish Garrus was there as well). I hope they didn't die, though I saw Liara leaving the crashed Normandy..... wtf....
If they do die, well I'd have picked Kaidan/James.
After that, the rape began. Plot was raped, Shep was raped, I was raped.

- "Owh crap...i messed up, got hit by the beam, reload time no doubt..."
- "Hmm, looks scripted, ok, get up Sheppy, almost there!"
- "Whoa, lots of bodies, sick basterds, ok Splinter Cell time."
- "Wait, how did that old man Anderson beat me to the beam?"
- "TIM! Grrrrrrr!!"
- "Heh, made that sucker pull a Saren and shoot himself, loser."
- "Ok gents, time to chill...wait, Anderson? Has he passed out or bled out? Shep has no reaction"
<<From that moment onwards>>
- "DAFUQ?...."

Felt like the hero Shepard was rushing into that scene. Everyone's dying around you but you keep running, dodging Harbinger's beams until he gets you. Even then, I was looking around at the bodies to see if Tali and Garrus were alive, double tapping the husks and the one marauder thinking "you're not stopping me. I'm not dying ingloriously!"
And then I died ingloriously at the hands of an ancient AI starchild...
100% my reaction to the scene

Then, I pretty much slowly gouged my eyes out with a rusty spoon, as I was unable to defeat the Marauder (on insanity difficulty) with my carpy pistol with woozy aiming/concentration/lack of any powers or abilities to use. So I swapped over to the casual difficulty level, beamed up, and proceeded to become confused by the ending. :-( Before those last ten minutes or so, this had been the most amazing CRPG I had ever played. Am trying to remember that in the face of all the disappointment at the end. :-/
[edited to clarify that I had been playing on insanity difficulty all the way to the end, only to become broken and defeated by a lone marauder *sigh*]

Hell it could have just ended with you collapsing on the way to the console, as much as that would suck at least all that other crap would cease to exist.
Or had it ended with the extended anderson scene that got cut out, that would have been perfect.

And about 10 mins later I stared at the screen, silent, with eyes wide open like a dead fish on dry land, speechless, in disbelief... keep staring as the Credits rolled... stared.... stared... then I felt like a vast empty void had replaced my heart and my soul, couldn't speak nor even think clearly for hours.

Is it really true that you can see your dead squad mates in front of you when you wake up? If yes, does anybody have a picture of it?
From what I heard,if your EMS is low enough, you will see their corpses. Otherwise they will survive and teleport back on to the Normandy.

Brought back the rush I got from the rush to the Conduit back in ME1.

The odds were always against him, he fought valiantly until the end... but then he woke up - and it all went downhill from there.

When I got lasered I thought "oh ****, I didn't doge it in time! I'm gonna have to do it better next time! Wait, it's still going? Oh this is so cool!"
I was like "yeah, you can't keep me down! Time to save the day and be a big damn hero!"
But then I was like "Wait, where's my squad?" And my emotional rollercoaster was all over the damn place. I almost reloaded just because I thought my squadmates were dead.

At first I thought I messed up and failed to duck, like all those times I died at Rannoch (*shakesfist*), and was ready to reload... but when the action continued I thought "Good lord, this is utterly brilliant, Bioware! Alternate ending based on how successful the charge was!"
Little did I know.

Harbinger drops from the sky - my jaw hits the desk.
We start the suicide run - All I can think for the first hundred feet is whether I can actually die at this point, I start feeling optimistic about my chances when Shepard auto-dodges the first several shots.
Shepard gets hit - At this point I'm wondering if I messed up or if this was supposed to happen, then Shepard gets up. Not knowing I could actually wander around, I just started heading for the beam without checking to see if anyone was alive.
The husks attack - I take them out as efficiently as possible, thinking I only had the one clip, potentially not even a full clip, to take them out. Then I instinctively hit the reload button and somehow magically pulled another clip out of no where. This is where I first started feeling like something was off.
The marauder gets a cheap shot - Just as I'm about 5 meters from the beam, a marauder breaks from cover and shoots me in the gut. At first I thought I messed up again. Shepard was already pretty messed up at this point, I didn't think a rifle shot to the stomach would be something she could live through. I had to re-do this part because Shepard decided to lean way over to the right and obscure my line of sight, making it hard to aim.
From there my main issue (aside from the ending) was that even though I had a maxed reputation and chose the paragon persuasion choice every time I talked to TIM, I wasn't able to choose the final persuasion against him in the Citadel. I wanted him to realize he ****ed up in the end before he died. I also didn't get the 30 second clip of Shepard breathing under the rubble, even though I had an EMS of 5200 and chose to destroy the reapers.
I've heard something about that potentially being a PC CE issue, or maybe a CE issue in general.
