But the Great Gatsby had a good ending....
It definitely did. There's a distinct difference between grimdark and paradise lost.

Supporting.
And again, everyone. BE CIVIL. You'll make the desire for a less senseless finale look just as silly as some think it is if you come across as raving lunatics about it.

Careful, lets not go into "no true Scotsman" business here.

I do believe we should remind them who really pays their salaries.
I hate to say it but they already have our money for this game. Where they might be hurt is on their next games, TOR and DLC.

Don't really know who he is.
In basic, its a lamprey that attached itself to the gaming communities years ago because a guy could draw gaming relevent comics, then somewhere in there an agent got involved and somehow Penny Arcade is some kind of bastion of profound gaming insight and witticism.
I'll bet my last dollar that Yahtzee is going to come out next Wednesday and make all these gaming "media" people look like over-opinionated, out of touch douchebags.

Mr. Heir is probably hurt and disappointed, so he's coping with sarcasm. The BSN is hurt and disappointed and won't react well to sarcasm.
Damn, it's like Horizon all over again.

Or are irrational endings somehow excusable?
And who the f**ck is penny arcade anyway and what the hell does the Great Gastby have to do with Mass Effect?!?!

Thankfully I'm not going to resort to this same kind of offhand smugness, it seems like any major game outlet and its professional reviewers love to be egotistical and then have their impenetrable barricade of fans flock to defend them. Isn't that something? Take a contrary stance to ****** people off for giggles and because you're untouchable.

I also get that the idea of what the "artist" is is more nebulous now than ever. Which of the 5 editions of Blade Runner are what the artist wanted? Which edition of Star Wars? Which edition of Empire Strikes Back? Would you care to know that Lucas wasn't directly involved in that film, he did not write it, he did not direct it, I'm not even sure if he was in the same country, let alone near the set, how does he get to change it?
Is Serenity contemptible because the fanbase was unsatisfied with Objects in Space. Objects in Space is where it was decided Firefly should end. And Farscape ended with John and Aeryn dead on a lake.
So who is the artist? Is it the writer? The director? What about the producer? The guy who signs the checks? What if they disagree with one another on how it should end? And why is the fans asking them to change their mind so worthy of contempt?

Thats not really fair to say, I personally dislike the ending, but he can enjoy the games just as much as I do and have a different opinion about it.

I don't think getting shot in the pool makes a great ending. HOWEVER, it at least makes sense to the moral of the story. ME 3 on the OTHER hand, made NO sense.

Civility is a must. Emotions are running high, don't let it get the best of you. There are legitimate concerns here, but if we only come across as crazed fans, those legitimate concerns will be moot.

"There is a movement to change the ending of Mass Effect 3. I love it. I support it."
Ok, I support this.
Then he goes on to say....
"I want this for everything. I'm starting a letter writing campaign to have Gatbsy end with a steamy sex scene"
Pretty damn unlikely and sarcastic.
"Max Payne should end with a surprise party and his wife and kid are there. Someone needs to write the petition."
Yeah, he's definitely being a dick about it.
