Manveer Heir also indicates that his opinion is not the opinion of Bioware as a whole, take that for what it's worth.

While it may be his own opinion and not that of Bioware's, he is still a Bioware employee and should conduct himself accordingly.  I can certainly understand him being frustrated with fan complaints, but until an official statement comes out of Bioware, he should steer clear of any potential controversy that could result in more backlash towards Bioware.

For the record, I do think that those of us who aren't satisfied with the endings should also conduct ourselves in an appropriate manner and not fan any flames here, as it will only hurt our cause.

This is true, but he could've acted with a bit more tact. People are upset, they want answers, and until Bioware issues a public statement then these little bits of information are all we have to go on. Nobody likes being mocked and when it comes on the heels of a disappointing end to a trilogy that's been years in the making people are going to be mad. Manveer Heir should realize this.

True enough, jellobell. It could have been done better. The situation is so volatine now, however, that it doesn't take much to set people off. Honestly, we should all sit back and chill-out and give Bioware a chance to put things right before we say things we'll regret later. We're grasping at straws, any comment at all from a dev is quickly torn down and critcised and I think the PA guy was making the point that fans are expecting the impossible. We really should all take a break and look at this with logic instead of with rampant emotion and knee-jerk reactions.

Again, we have not heard a single direct response to these tens of thousands of posts over the last two weeks. We don't have anything to go by. All of the sudden, our first real indicator that anyone's listening is an indirect sarcastic mockery of thousands of fans. Sorry if we react with some emotion, and don't all set up a committee trying to figure what exactly he meant when he retweeted that obviously condescending "joke".

Have some patience, the Asian community hasn't even gotten to play the game yet, to expect a discussion of official nature on the ending before then is a bit unrealistic.

I didn't ask for an official discussion, I asked for an acknowledgement of an issue that is already pretty huge.

I agree with him. Those Tweets are a fine example of how rediculous this whole "Change the Endings" Campaign is.

To be fair there have been a couple. I'll have to look it up, but I think it's along the lines of "We're listening".

A dev retweeted the comment a Penny Arcade guy made and many people are finding it in poor taste at a time like this and take offense to it.

And I say have some patience. They can't do anything yet without spoiling the game for consumers that haven't got their hands on it yet.

What you should be doing is asking the Bioware guy why he felt that this opinion was worthy of retweeting.  I am more interested in that because I am sure they are talking inside of Bioware right now and I would like to know where that discussion is going.

This. Seems like the Bioware employee was mocking the fans. Don't know of any company that would support their customers being mocked. :?

It's sad that people who love this series, spent the last five years putting countless hours into it and in a way grow up with the characters in the game get ridiculed and labeled as entitled pricks just because we had a high standard for what should be, and I think still is the best game ever made. Whatever gets you press and makes you feel good, right?

Honestly, if he or anyone from Bioware can explain to me and the rest of the people upset with the endings how any of the endings offered are supposed to be percieved, than I would be willing to say that the push to have the endings changed is extreme. But right now, there is so much confusion about the relationship between the greatness of the first 2 games (and 99% of the last one) and the last fifteen minutes of ME 3 that it seems like they rushed to kill off Shepard and hoped that gamers would be willing to make the inferences for everything else.  I think Mr. Heir, after working so hard getting everything else right about ME3, is upset about the petition because he cannot see the game from the perspective of the people outside the creative process. WE DON"T GET THE OBSCURE, MINIMALIST APPROACH TAKEN IN THE FINALLY CRUCIAL MOMENTS OF OUR FAVORITE FRANCHISE. As it is the ending is like looking at an impressionist painting, without the context to make a solid inference about what is attempted with the ending. it appears i need a job at Bioware to understand it.

@BenKuchera What's this? The only way Nick can save Gatsby is by blowing up the Plaza hotel or making everyone middle class? Makes sense...

Penny Arcade? I love how they remind me of a gamer's sunday comics. Right of there with Marmaduke.

If the Bioware employee implies the ending is bad because its a sad/non-hollywood ending he is so wrong.

Its bad because:

1) So many questions are left unanswered
2) You dont get to see a proper epilogue of what happened to everyone (Especially our romance option)
3) There is no final challenge (End boss)
4) Star kid suddenly reveals himself as if Bioware didnt know what to do and pulled a random rabbit out of the magician hat hoping for the best.

The ending isnt bad because shepard dies or even in that the earth is destroyed. Thats NOT the issue. Hell, the reapers cleaving shepard in half with a red energy beam and completing the cycle would be a better ending.

Exactly.  The comments calling us entitled whiners have latched onto the idea that we're mad because we didn't get a rainbow and unicorn ending.

Personally, I would have liked that considering I got through a "SUICIDE MISSION" unscathed, but whatever.  The big issue for me is I was told that there were going to be wildly divergent endings and that all my big choices would culminate in one of the many endings.  Instead, all endings are slight variants on the same thing, and even though my choices counted through most of the game, at the very end, I was placed in a bubble.

Many of those who criticize haven´t seen what the petition is about. Their point is that the idea is ridiculous and those asking for it are some kind of freaks who want exactly the endings they want or they will start a war with Bioware.

It´s interesting how in this case, the posts about the ending are civilized and have points you can discuss. But the defending ones are "this is stupid" , jokes, or just trolls.

The problem is the most commonly sourced threads are the ones with "We want a brighter ending!!" and threads with people talking about "But... WHY DON'T I SEE TALI AGAIN?" So, yeah, we look like ridiculous fanboys from their perspective.
