So wait, the people who liked them are indoctrinated? That would make sense ... I guess.

I suppose but there is also the purpose of the game and what ME3 is known for. Choices.

I support this thread 100 billion %. The Shepard lives ending in the stone rubble... maybe it's true and everything following you being zapped didn't actually happen. Anderson beating you there didn't make sense, none of it made sense. Hm....

Edit: And then you magically went straight to a control panel that was in a convenient enough location to open the arms with no real navigation.

All this "indoctrination" conspiracy theories are nothing but desperate wishful thinking. I mean come on how the fact that "kid disappeared the second u shoot that thing" proves this is a dream. Come on.

Well of course it's not just that and it is more critical thinking than visual. But it is weird that he stays a moment when you choose to control the reapers and gives that smirk. Not saying it 100% proves but it is suspicious.

To be fair, how is the Catalyst the exact same kid from back on Earth?

Plot hole and space magic?

I do hope that the theory is right though and there's a patch somewhere with the rest of the ending or something.

I'll take anything as long as we don't have to live with these endings. All that gives me hope is the silence from BW and the hints from the producer's twitter. It might be wishful thinking but it's better than letting the disappointment eat me alive.

As said in the vid, it isn't the SAME exact kid. Just a projection by the reapers/catalyst.

Yep, using something vulnerable from Shepards mind to influence him to do what they want. Make the 'right choice' the red colored one.

Yeah I was just telling Nefelius that the theory has some things that support it. Not just the fact that the kid quickly disappears.

I started questioning how real it was when the kid showed up looking like the kid. The game had already dropped clues for us with Legion's quest. When you go into the network you see Legion as his unit, and he tells you that is because he has chosen to look like that because it is familiar to Shepard. Also I know this is nitpicky, but Shepard gets a gun with unlimited ammo when entering the beam. Shepard is familiar with guns, his mind would create a gun for protection, just like it does in Legion's quest.

The way I see it Bioware did one of two things. They either thought this ending out very very well, and have left us on the cliffhanger to stew and think before we get a real ending, or they screwed themselves over by slapping a half assed ending together in a few hours. I find it hard to believe that Bioware would wrap up this baby of theirs on such a ****ty note, no matter the pressure they where under. Better to throw out less important content then an entire ending.

But what do I know? I don't make video games.

I don't want to jump to conclusions but if you sit and think about this it makes the most sense. Who has been exposed to multiple pieces of Reaper tech multiple times?

Shepard. Now I cannot recall all but I know at least 2 side missions in ME you encountered Reaper tech. Not to mention talking with Sovereign AND battling a fully controlled Saren at the end.

Now in ME2 we have several points at which Shepard is once again exposed to Reaper tech. Side missions, human Reaper at the end of The Collector Base and is once again directly spoken too by a Reaper this time Harbinger at the end of Arrival and as Shep is escaping the Collector base.

Also lets not forget Object Rho! Shepard was knocked out for 2 days in CLOSE PROXIMITY to a Reaper Artifact and a big one at that!

Now the very first N7 mission in ME3 Shepard is asked to retrieve what? 2 Reaper artifacts. Small artifacts but still Reaper tech. And in all the time spent in the presence of Reaper forces especially Banshees (It's not stated but IMO if any Reaper troop/ship has the ability to indoctrinate it has to be the Banshees. Just look at the Ardat-Yakshe Monastary! A Banshee grabs Samara's daughter to indoctrinate her!)

"Bu..but Shepard has the Prothean cipher his mind is immune to indoctrination."

If Protheans could resist indoctrination then explain  the Traitors Javik mentions in conversations with him...

How long was Dr. Chandra's team exposed to the Derilect reaper corpse before their minds went? In theory no more than a couple weeks. (We are never told for certian AFAIK)

Now my final point....

The other 99% of the game. Put aside your rage for 1 minute and think.

How much of the game till the stargodwtfeverkid showed up was WELL WRITTEN? Mordin's sacrifice, Banter between squad mates referencing things all the way back to ME1. Banter with Garuus (brofist) Legion, Tali, Liara, The council even shooting TIM in the face (also Udina....F*%& you Udina) was VERY WELL DONE!

So unless an idiot monkey wrote the last part of the game I have a hard time believing the people who wrote the rest of this amazing game wrote this horrid ending.

Well done, OP. I can totally get behind this theory. And I liked the vid you made. It made things very clear.

I'm glad there's more people thinking about this. But the majority don't, and that's the problem. Spread the word folk.

Unfortunately I have to agree with you. The video does point out some inconsistencies, but nothing out of the normal "human error" range.

Anderson was ahead of Shepard because they came out of two different places. They went in the same portal, but they came out of two exits, and Anderson was supposedly ahead of Shepard. That's why Shepard said "don't get too ahead of me".

Secondly, the breathing apparatus, as well as the supposed "smirk" on the child's face really doesn't prove anything.

Lastly, the lack of response from the ME3 dev team shows that it is more likely that the ending was intended to be the wrap up of the entire game. If it wasn't, Bioware would've announced something to clarify amid the outrage of gamers and loyal fans. In addition, the part condecending response from one of the ME3 writers also shows that they're pretty much settled on the ending as is.

It is extremely disappointing, and people are combing through every single piece of evidence to somehow cure their disappointment. I can definitely relate to that, and I definitely feel the massive let down. However, try to make sense out of something that was improperly designed and executed wouldn't make sense either.

It'd be crazy if this is true because BioWare made a very risky move. ME3 has been demolished by players on Metacritic and they are getting a lot of hate right now. Tons of articles are being made and so many polls.
