Why in the hell was this stupid system desinged? All it does is (seemingly) to complicate things. This site sucks. Yes it's beta but at least it could have been fully done before opening it.
The system sucks. I need additional account in order to get DLC which then is also linked to my 360 and my GT...
Only positive thing i can see is that, IF this works like this, that i could DL the DLC again on different platform should i get DAO for, say, PC too and that DLC code is not one time only if my 360 HD gets busted. If and ONLY if things work as i described.
Honestly, it feels that this system is going to be a catastrophe. Don't tell this applies to ME2 too.
EA has already zero credibility in my eyes, and i'm not happy that BW is partipicating in this. Of course i understand that BW might not have choice but stilll...
*shakes head slowly* Change is a good thing... but only if it can be proven to have positive and concrete effect.

Oh and a negative comment on the site, the font's too small. Zooming in FF makes the site jerkier...

Wow, its really that difficult to use the same log in that you use here to log directly into the game itself to download the content? How much harder is that then opening up the Marketplace tab and inputting the codes there? Over exagerate much? Posted Image

Is was designed this way so that there was a single, central repository for Dragon Age DLC. For example, if you have a buy Dragon Age for the Xbox, and Mass Effect for the PC, the Blood Dragon armor is available for the PC. If this code was only for the X-Box, you wouldn't be able to get DLC or promo items for other systems.

It was also designed this way because BioWare wants its XBox, PS3, and PC gamer community (currently 4 million strong) to interact. Hence, the entire social network. They aren't treating Dragon Age as just a game, but as part of a larger franchise.

Having re-read this thread, I think everyone's questions have been answered by the Bioware employees, particularly the third posting (on page 3).

Codes can be entered here on social. They can also be redeemed from within the game on each platform - from the game's Main Menu, select the Downloadable Content option. In there will be an option to Redeem Code on PC, (Y) Redeem EA Code on 360, or (triangle) Redeem EA Code on PS3.

DLC works the same as you'd expect on each platform. So on 360, once that DLC is on your box any gamertag (regardless of whether they have an EA account) can play it.

DLC will take effect for any new game, as well as any existing save game. So if you are already playing the game, then activate DLC, loading that last same save game is all you need to do.

Thank you very much you post is alot clearer on how its done. Thanks again.

Also after you redeem your code highlight the item from the list and click A on xbox controlls to then download the items into your game.

My question wasn't answered...... :(

I mean, You sure allready know the answer by Yourself. Don't count on this...

I'm referring to accessibility for users other than the purchaser who may or may not have an EA account.

Ohh, You mean, all pirate scumbags that allready have the game, and only thing that separaes them from us, is lack of legit serial code and no possibility to download any DLC ?

For
example, if I buy the Warden's Keep with my gamertag and my EA account.
Will my son be able to play the Warden's Keep under his own gamertag?

Of course, I truly belive You, but think, how happy those above mentioned pirates would be if this would happen.
So i think it's not allowed, DLC is most likely bind to Your account, so Your son will have to play on Your account/gamerstag, to enjoy warden's keep quest... it's preety obvious and simple as that
Regards

Dude... I don't know what your problem is but you obviously have never owned an Xbox 360. Your tone is unnecessary and I would advise you to not comment on things that you have no clue about.

Thanks for the response, I have just one more question.

Are the Xbox DLC and PC DLC considered the same product or different products? Let's say I buy the Warden's Keep DLC for the Xbox, if I purchase the PC game later on, and log in to the same EA account, would I be able to download the Warden's Keep DLC for the PC version for free, or would I have to purchase it again?

Disclaimer: I'm getting the PC version, I don't own an Xbox 360, so I may be talking out my ass.

It really sounds more like the Xbox's restriction on the size and format of DLC codes through their out-of-game DLC code redemption center is the problem here. Bioware has to support 3 different platforms with the same DLC code. It would cost them too much extra in production, coding, etc., to support 3 differently coded DLC codes, one for each platform (I'm assuming the PS3 has their own, non-compatible formatting for DLC redemption codes, but then I don't know for sure), and to guarantee that manufacturing inserts the right card into the right case, and to make sure the backend servers understand and correctly process each different code, etc....

It's unfortunate that the redemption code scheme for the Xbox is so strict in formatting, rather than a free form field that is passed on to the game producer's servers for verification. I suppose though that Microsoft would catch sh*t from gamers if the producers failed to correctly validate the redemption codes, so they are kind of stuck as well. It's a no-win situation for companies that want to support DLC across more than 1 platform.

They've mentioned thhis in the old forum. We were told that in the scenario you mentioned you would have to buy the DLC again for the PC version.

Thanks, would you happen to know if this is true for the CE bonus items/pre-order items too ?  Would buying the CE on the 360 avail me to items such as Bergen's Honor on the PC, or would I need to also buy the PC CE for that?

Also, what about DAJ unlockables and the Lucky Stone, are they unlocked for every verion of the game if I have more than one version?

So are the DLC codes exclusive for systems? I was given a rave card at gamestop when I preordered that is listed as Xbox but I ordered the PC version. I will go switch it if necessary (havent used it) but it'd be easier not to have to do that

Sorry m8, I did not wan't to offend You, and of coure You right, i don't have x360:blush:
I was mistaken, by that all gamerstag, thingie...what I mean't is that a DLC is reffered to single EA account ( it was mentioned somewhere, that if You buy preowned DA, without account, You will have to buy DLC again for Yourself)
So I clearly misunderstood Your questions, and my harsh tone is related because of all my god forsaken "friends" who allready play pirate copies, and I, **** legite user need to wait till Friday :crying:

So, sorry again, no offence, and enjoy Your game, with Your son

@Last Hearth - Yep covers all of it. If you want PC preorder items or DLC and already got the 360 version you will need to buy them again. Not sure about the unlockables though. Maybe Fernando might pop back in? :)

@panic - That I honestly don't know. Since we're now buying DLC through the points.bioware.com website I don't know if the codes are exclusive to specific platforms.

@Pariah - Understand where you're coming from but next time don't shoot first and ask questions later. ;) My question was sincere since it's the way DRM is managed on an Xbox. No worries.

All pre-order bonus codes and DLC codes are platform specific. The only exception is the Blood Dragon Armor in Mass Effect 2: so if for example you bought DAO for PC and you buy Mass Effect 2 for Xbox, you will still be able to use the BDA on your Mass Effect 2 copy.

Anyways, do i need to log in my EA account in order for my brother to use DAO DLC on his GT too?
We don't obviosly use same GT... heck, he has his own EA account but DLC codes seem to be single use, allways.

Separate machines and separate EA accounts require separate copies of the game and the codes. So multiple people can play the game on the same machine (obviously, two people can't be playing at the same time, so at any time, only 1 person and 1 instance of the game is active), but if you want to install the game for different people on multiple machines (where multiple instances of the game can be played simultaneously), then you will definitely need to buy multiple copies of it.

I got mine to work.  But it was not working at all when I first got the game.  Then I registered the game on the social network with the game code.  Then I tried again and the Blood Armor code magicaly worked.

So now I have the blood armor.  you get it right off in the game, well at least 1 piece of it I got the actual plate armor, not the helm or boots.

What Mari Caliban said. I'm not sure that those are supposed to be typical XBL DLC codes. I think all DLC gets handled through one central EA hub.
The cards with the codes on them should TELL you where to input them. Do they say to input them into the XBL "redeem code" feature, or do they tell you to go somewhere else?
My guess is, you enter the codes with EA, and then log in, within the game, to your EA account, and then you get access to the DLC.

If you can't redeem them on XBL, where else could a 360 owner redeem them?

You do redeem them through XBL, after your Live account is synced with your EA account. The codes he receieved supposedly do not work in XBL because he's supposed to redeem them through this site, through his EA account, then sync his accounts (or sync the accounts first?) and download the DLC though XBL.

My... how confusing.

Oh dear. I've never even downloaded DLC off xbox live the usual way.
