Okay, first when I started installing ME3, I had trouble activating the code- first it said my code is invalid, then it said It already has been used. Still Origin added ME3 to my games list, And I registered game and online pass here. Also pre-order bonuses worked fine. But now Origin makes me redownload whole game! It sucks, I have the DVD. Are they for nothing??

The instructions above doesn't work. It just keeps asking the code in "Activate Mass Effect 3" dialog and it gives the same error everytime and returns back to the code screen after pressing "Next" a few times.
Could it be possible that there is a wrong disk placed in a wrong box and the code won't match. Let's hope it works after downloading it.
Never had this much trouble installing any game before.

Hmm i did not delete partial download I had. Anyway, I finally downloaded and installed Mass Effect 3. I have had another question: Where are the DLC instalers stored. that origin cache folder has no decent files.
I remember I had my Pinnacle station DLC there a while ago, and I moved it to my hard drive for safekeeping.
But I cannot find ME 1.01 patch or from ashes DLC installers.

I also had an issue with origin and installing when I had the DVD. It downloaded, but then also installed from the DVD. I hate online game stores (steam, origin) for this reason, installations/updates/add-ons/dlc's get convoluted quick.
The end result of my installation was that it took nearly twice as long as any game I've ever played.
Absolutely unacceptable.

I had no problem installing it ( I have the collector's edition for PC) and t was reading the HDD and DVD at max speed all the time during installation).

the dlc is in program files (x86)[if 64bit] - origin-origin games-mass effect 3-BIOGame-dlc
if your wanting to back up origin just copy the whole origin game folder or individual game folders, when you reinstall log in ,copy them back,click download/install in origin
