I wanted to see if the developers left a glitch gap that if you walk past the edge of the area you can fall down the platform.

I got that punched in the gut feeling. Walked away from my TV for about half an hour. After I came back I shot at the catalyst for a few minutes. Then I walked forward since I didn't care for my choices and figured I may as well get the achievements for finishing the game. Then I logged into the forums to see if I did something wrong.

Edit- Somewhere in there I  thought "wow, I was wrong".  I thought the people complaining about the endings from the script leak were blowing things out of proportion but they were right.

Then I accidentally found myself in the synthesis ending because I didn't understand how the choosing worked.

Then I just kind of, stared at my screen in disbelief.

I shot him in the face. Then the gut. I shot him everywhere I could. The ending reminded me of a Kojima ending, so I decided to think like back when I played a lot of Metal Gear Solid, looking for a secret. I thought that killing the one who flat out told you that he controlled the Reapers, I could finally have something close to a happy ending. But obviously that won't work.

When Anderson died, i got a bad feeling about where the story would go, then i see that kid from the beginning. my mind just went empty then a lot of stupid movies i had seen before come into my mind until i was left to choose a color, Even at that time. i still hoped Shepard will live because i talked to my crew every time i finished a mission and I tried to make decisions toward victory.

it took me a long time before i made my choice because i was trying to figure out what's the different....well, found out when i checked Youtube....

I woke up my pregnant wife who fell asleep watching me play because she wanted to see the ending, and I feel like I permanently tainted my unborn son. I reloaded the Citadel run, thought it was all a mistake, picked the different ending, did it again after a few google searches and picked synthesis ending. Then I got so pissed off I chain smoked while ****ing until I got a migrane. didn't even want to wake up the next day. Went to the midnight release for this bull****.

A lot of whiskey tango foxtrot and extremely uncomfortable flashbacks to the movie A.I., another amazingly good story that was utterly ruined by a swift and sudden swerve into WTFville in the last few minutes.

Then I went looking for my good buddy Captain Morgan in lieu of ryncol.

I played through on insanity so the Turian husk thing killed be about a dozen times because Shep kept missing. After that I didn't particularly care about all the dead bodies I landed in. After that I started thinking, "Hey, this place looks exactly like the Shadow Broker's ship. . . I wonder." And then I stopped because it was too annoying to walk around that slow. Laughed at Anderson walking around like a monkey. Mostly felt sorry for the Illusive Man, and kind of annoyed he talked so much. Then laughed again that I was going to die before pushing the console button. The little kid... was expected. It pretty normal in sci-fi when machines are involved that they have some machine representation of themselves to greet us with. Happens at least once in every series. Where I got annoyed was when the child thing said, "I control them." That felt like dying. All this time I talked to the Reapers and really I was talking to "this". I become utterly bored. No more depth like with creepy, very convincing Sovereign. Just this pathetic little kid having a tantrum and crisis after realizing the universe doesn't work and revolved around 'him'. My reaction was very close to Nefelius. The only redeeming thing out of the whole experience is that I can play multiplayer (when I'm not d/cing constantly).

While I found the whole thing problematic, I didn't really feel gut-punched until after I made my choice (synthesis).

I went back over how crappy the choices and what had just happened was... and proceeded to shoot him in the head for like 2 minutes straight.

Well, apparently I launched into a rant about how ridiculous it all was while shooting at the catalyst. At some point, I guess I gave up, did an about face and stumbled through whatever the middle choice was. At that point my fiance took off my noise cancelling headphones and thanked me for ruining her collector's edition copy. She'd just installed it and had been enjoying the multiplayer, but she just can't play the single player campaign knowing what the ending is.

Sat in disbelief over how bad it all turned so quickly
Walked towards the RED ending, and then felt plain empty and disappointed in how it went.
Quickly opened up youtube to see what the other endings was, because I wasn't sure where I had messed up.
Then the rage started....

I was wondering why there were flashes of Anderson destroying the Reapers and TIM controlling them when the Catalyst was explaining my choices to me. No flash happened when I was presented with the synthesis option though. I don't know what they meant, but it could be some sub-conscious of "This is what Anderson would do," and "this is what TIM would do," kind of deal. Still not sure what to think, tbh. It just left me with confusion.

"... Okay. That wasn't it. Ooh! Maybe Ghost-Vent-Boy is hiding around here! Maybe I can shoot him, or- Yes! Maybe I can shoot his power... supply... thingy!"

*three minutes of useless gunfire*
"Ugh. You know what? Fine. I'm Commander ****ing Shepard. I came here to destroy the Reapers, and that's what I'll do."

*shoots the Crucible controls*
*watches the ending*
*spends two hours sobbing in her bed*

Ask my room-mate. She witnessed all of this.
... And hasn't stopped teasing me since.

I did what it seems most did.

I immediately looked up all the ending to see if I royally boned myself into something bad.

Turns out, no, I didn't. That is seriously how it was...
