This is why I can't even play the other games again or play 3 w/ my other Sheps.

I'll second that....it just sucked the energy right out of me....I'm grieving...what it was and what it could have been...they destroyed it and my joy and love for the games along with it......I feel empty..... THIS IS NOT HOW I SHOULD  FEEL AFTER ME3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I should be happy, content, eager to play it again like I was with the other games.....hell, I played ME2 continously for over half a year after it's release! But this....this is just....just....Thanks Bioware for destroying my love for gaming, completely crushed me....

Edit: Now in the words of my brother who feels the same as me....where's the button that implodes the universe? I feel like pressing it now!

I mentally yelled "WHAT THE ****" at the top of my lungs - err - brains. I'm sure some of it overflowed and got vocalized but I can't say for certain.

In the end I walked over to the Destroy-option. When I saw the relays blow up in the cutscene I instantly alt + f4'd. I thought the relays would supernova the **** out of everything and kill everyone.

So I replayed the finale and chose the Control-option. Oh look the relays blew up anyway. Should have gone with the Destroy after all.

 I left my PS3 sitting, went online, and googled. I watched the various endings on youtube and turned off my PS3. I googled some more to make absolutely certain there wasn't an ending that actually made sense and delivered on promises until my head started hurting. I went out with friends and drank beers. Newcastle, IIRC. I tried my best not to ruin the ending for them but they could tell. They knew I had finished the game and could see I was very, very unhappy.

Eventually I told them why. I half convinced them to play the Mass Effect series and they hated me for it. Why? Because they became true converts. We could talk for hours about the universe. We made inside references to the series no one else got. They bought every DLC. They waited eagerly for ME3 and now they see what it did to me. They are determined to finish it but I know they will have the same reaction. I'll be there for them, with a few beers and a shoulder to cry on, because that's how great this series was, and how absolutely horrid the ending is.

Like many other people, I too tried shooting the kid.

Then I went ahead to see how it would end, expecting to see the outcome of all my choices through three games.

Then I was baffled I saw the Normandy crashing.  WTF?  I must have gotten the bad ending.  Guess my war resources still weren't high enough.

Then I googled and came here.

My reaction was "That's it?. Now I get to pick something of these three based on what you said, just because you said it and without giving me further explanation to anything, not even your existence?" Then I proceeded to pick every ending in the presented order (Control, Synthesis, Destroy).

Personally, if I could only pick one, I'd have gone with Destruction. That's what Shepard was about from the very beginning. To stop the reapers, not becoming their master nor messing up with the DNA of the entire galaxy.

Then i choosed the sinthetic ending and when i saw the secret ending i tried to understand,.

After the ending i said "Woot, what was this?" Then i googled to youtube to find commentsof people ranging because of the weird and crap ending. Than i camed to bioware social network and got impressed with soo many threads about this.

Blew up Reapers, turned off console during credit roll and remained in shock.

I pressed Escape to pause the game. Alt+Tab to Google. Then I realized I was at the end and chose to just go straight up the middle: "No, no, no, that can't be right."  


Reload last checkpoint, walk to the left *blue path: "Ugh...."
Being lazy I decide to youtube the *red path on the right. "Wow, just, wow...."

Now I can honestly say I enjoyed 99% of the Mass Effect trilogy. I loved the whole series except the last 20 minutes.
(Even with my ~6100 War Assets score and my 98% Galactic Readiness, it didn't seem like it mattered anyway).

"I tried so hard, and got so far, but in the end, it doesn't even matter...."


One more thing: So I understand that Joker and EDI crash land on the  mysterious planet, but what happens to everyone else????

The new couple Garrus Vakarian and Tali'Zorah (vas Normandy): Do they make half quarian-half turian babies? (In some endings they step off the Normandy as well, even if you chose them as squad members in the last mission.)

Liara T'Soni: still the Shadow Broker? Can she even help rebuild the Asari homeworld Thessia (all mass relays destroyed)?

Ashley Williams: I completely forgot what she said that she would do. (Or Kaidan for other playthroughs).

Javik, the Prothean (if you bought the DLC): does he end up visiting the sites of the fallen Protheans?

James Vega: ok so he joins the Alliance N7 program, then what?

(Urdnot) Wrex: Well, I guess he's still the leader of Tuchanka, but how does he even return to the Krogan homeworld? (all mass relays destroyed).

And all of my ME2 squadmates:  Miranda, Jacob, Jack, Samara, Grunt, Kasumi, and Zaeed??? Shepard speaks to them in holographic form and that's it.

Shepard: Mr. Starchild, may I please know what happened to all my friends?

Starchild: No, you must choose immediately or they all die *sinister laugh*! *troll face* *umad*

Same.

Then I went and woke up my boyfriend (who beat it the night before while I was asleep) and asked him what he thought was going on.  It took me another ten minutes to bring myself to "choose" one of the three path ways.

I had so much hope for a nice, dramatic ending after seeing the final scene with Mordin.  The conclusion they gave him was touching, it will stay with me.

If I play through again I will just ctrl-alt-del after Anderson says his last dialogue.

And then did an Alt+Tab and checked forums to see if I did something seriously wrong to get those endings.

well, it's about 12 hours later and I'm still in shock. can't really talk about anything but the game and have this sense of profound sadness that Bioware treated us this way.

I was like WTF, are you serious, were did my choices come in to help here, and finally my paragon Sheppard would never let the Reapers live but at the same time in doing so he will be killing about as many lives as the reapers. So yeah very pissed.

i passed the game on friday night i loved it then the damn thing child came on an then i went online wondering what the flying f*** just happend.

I just don't get it. Yes the conversation with the kid was 'enlightening' (if disconnected from reality) and the choices available were ok for possible endings....... but that was it they were OK.

There is no reward for being paragon or renegade,
Nothing to show for ending nearly 300 years of war between geth and quarians,
Nothing regarding Shepards hopes to save everyone or at least as many as possible, Synthesis option is closest to this but it the right to choose from everyone in the galaxy let alone destroying galactic travel for who knows how long,
Nothing to show for doing everything possible to increase the likelihood of success,

All we got was a set of endings that are unrealistic and physically/mentally painful to attempt to comprehend considering the number of flaws in all the endings.
I am assuming that the choices were color coded justifying biowares beliefs they had an appropriate ending to each, ie. Synthesis was blue for paragon, destroy reapers was red for renegade and green for control as a combination of paragon and renegade.
(don't kill me if i am wrong i only did the destroy reapers option/red before rage quitting, but i do remember the destroy option having a red glow around the tube thing that you shoot).

Edit- Seems i got the color coding wrong anyway as 'control' doesn't sound like a paragon option.  LOL its sorta like the matrix ending, why didn't they just have an old man in a white room with TV's everywhere?

considering theres rarely a day i dont frequent the forums, i thought "so thats why the forum was filled with topics concerning the ending"

im only remaning here because i think bioware might do something about that ending. id like to start argueing about singularity being worse then stasis, and SMGs being totaly lame, or the adept not having stasis!!! but i cant, because their doesnt seem to be a reason for me to complain about little things like that, when the ending needs much mroe attention. if nothing happens sometime soon, The Spamming Troll is as good as gone.

also wanted to mention i also remember thinking "WTF did that little kid say again?" then i said OUTLOUD, "who cares?!?!" then ran to the right even tho i wasnt even sure that was the one i wanted to pick. i literally thought "this is dumb, who cares, i pick that one." the game ended, i cleaned my pants of poop.

if this is any indication, im not looking forward to becoming impotent when that happens.
