At one point when Legion and Garrus are talking over the intercom on the Normandy while Garrus is doing his calibrations. Legion is asking whether Garrus wants help to raise the aim or something to .32 and Garrus is just like "You sure you can't squeeze .34 out of them? Check now." and it's at like .42 Legions reply has this great sound of surprise in it that I never would have expected, made me laugh.

Haha, I forgot about that.  The bit when the Primarch says something like "Garrus would like to talk to you, he said something about....callibrations?"  Shepard:"Yea, that sounds like Garrus"

yeah that was funny, along the same lines of continuing jokes I loved the customer on the citadel STILL trying to get a refund from the first game. If you help resolve the issue you find out it's only been for 15 CREDITS HAHA.

Wow, a full refund? Really?"  "Yes congratulations, the whole 15 credits"

Funny moments:
Every time Shep's dancing was mentioned.
"There goes the next Shadow Broker."
Drunk Tali.
When the game glitched because I stomped Kai Leng too hard, too fast.
EDI and the porn.

Sad moments:
Charr's poem.
Realizing the PTSD'd Asari killed Joker's sister.
Mordin and Legion's death. (Thane's death was sad, but beautiful.)
Half a dozen Citadel conversations.
Shepard and Garrus making plans for a future they both know isn't going to happen.

What completely broke me down to the point of absolute, breathless disbelief was something that could be very easily missed. It's about Joker's family and their absolutely horrible fate, as well as the tragic ending of an unfortunate soldier that was with them.

In the first act, at Huerta memorial Hospital, you come across an Asari Commando suffering from PTSD talking to her therapist about her ordeal at the human colony of Tiptree. After multiple passes, the story goes that she was staying at this farm house with a young girl 15 year old named Hilary, who thought the Commando was the most awesome thing in the world. Hilary wanted to be a pilot like her brother and chats with the commando and they become friends.

The partner of that Asari commando gets indoctrinated, goes crazy, killing Hilary's father while the Commando is taking a shower and unarmed. The commando comes out of the shower, with no weapon, see's her partner is indoctrinated and killing everyone, grabs the girl and flees into the woods with nothing but a towel. The girl kills husks with a stick, the Commando remarks how brave the girl is, and the two decide to go back to the farm to get supplies and weapons and radio for help. Everything goes fine until the girl breaks her leg in the fight and can't stop whimpering while they are hiding. To save herself, and the data she recovered, the Asari Commando has no choice but to snap the girl's neck, and is suffering from PTSD from it. You also have the written report available once you listen to the entire conversation in your Spectre office.

But that's not all. Right before you hit the Illusive Man's Base, Joker asks Liara about news from the Refugees off of WHAT Colony? Tiptree. Guess whom he asks after? His sister, and his father. Guess what his sister's name is? Hilary.

In just a few beautifully done lines of dialogue, first from a nurse in the commons, then in the hospital from the commando, and then from Liara and Joker, you get this horrifically tragic story that can so easily be missed. There is no way to inform him that Shepard KNOWS what happened to his family, which rest assured s/he does know, if she has access to her Spectre office.

This is the one that gets me.

But Thessia at the end was bad as well..Hearing the asari soldiers asking while dying "did commander shepard do it?!?!"
And then you realized you failed...When I got that email from Leng, one thing was going through my head...

I so am going to kick your ass leng

God... SO many moments... Let's see...

Emotional:

- Liara's time capsule project.
- Cortez's moment by the memorial.
- The human soldier trying to get her asari daughter a safe place to go and explaining her parents disowned her when she married her wife, "Wanna guess why?"
- The elcor diplomat simply saying, "Not enough" with no words beforehand.
- Liara's reactions to Thessia, and her consoling of Shepard around the same time.
- The first view of Palaven, especially after hearing Garrus mention his birth place being the big red spot.
- Pretty much every one of Legion's introspective moments.
- Mordin's sacrifice.
- Visiting Ashley when she's still unconscious.

Hilarious:

- Drunk Ash. Drunk Tali.
- Javik: "Your pheromones say you do."
- All of EDI's "that was a joke" moments.
- The entire scene with Garrus at the top of the Presidium.
- "THERE'S A REAPER IN MY WAY."
- Walking in on Tali/Garrus.
- Constant "calibrating" lines.
- Vega/Garrus **** talking each other.
- Having the reporter gal punch back.
- "Big stupid jellyfish" making a comeback.
- Jack's swear jar moment.
- All of the Blasto 6 lines.

There are obviously more, but I can't think of everything on the spot.

I would say all of these and add Thane's death and and the Ash LI stuff to emotional.

And, Garrus is awesome in this game. The friendly R&R moment on top of the presidium was just so well written and you could tell they were true friends.

There's one scene I think many might have missed as well...

When you do the admiral rescue mission on Rannoch, you come across a dying quarian. His last words are "tell JONA father saw Rannoch with his own eyes".

Go back to Me2 and do Tali's loyalty mission. Remember the female quarian scientist..Her last words just as she is gunned down "Mommy loves you so much JONA"

Yeah....did nobody emerge unscathed by this game? Hell, even the psychologists are screwed in the head (if you meet Kelly and try to get her to come back to the normandy, she almost breaks down there at just the thought of being back...Hell, even Chawkas is still suffering from the collector abduction).

Hell, even the heartwarming scenes ends badly (the human with the asari wife trying to get her kid to the "safety" of Thessia Or the turian c-sec who tells his partner that his family gave up their vacation to support earth refugees and thus were on Pavalen when the reapers struck).

Only heart-warming scene that didn't end grimly I can think of is that salarian outside of Purgatory with the new armour and his female friend...When he realizes what she did, you can hear it in his voice as he understands (great voice-acting in background dialogue I found).....

Tali being drunk, Mordin wanting to do tests on seashells. Best of all was EDI's joke about forgetting to recycle the oxygen on the ship and Shepard's horrorfied look.

I teared up when Mordin died, bawled my eyes out when Thane died.

Tali being drunk was one of the funniest moments in the game.

Garrus scene on the Citadel made me laugh and cry inside. Laugh because it was such awesomeness, cry because I knew it would be one of the last times I saw this amazing character unfold. Every line that comes out of Garrus is delivered to perfection. I am not sure I will see that in a game ever again.

Funny moments:
Emergency induction port. Drunk Tali is fun
Walking in to Tali and Garrus. That was unexpected haha
Garrus showing off to Legion on his calibrating skill
Garrus' fav spot on Citadel
"I will destroy you!" quote lol I think it was most uttered in me1 when facing asari biotics
there's so many more lol moments...

Sad moments:
Mordin's death :c
Legion referring himself as I instead of We. And his death :c
Thessia's fall
Lt Victus sacrificing himself to prevent the bomb
Grunt nearly killed. They definitely had me there

Seeing Jack with a romanced Garrus. Garrus says something about her digs and she says "Bite me Vakarian. Or bite Shepard, she probably likes it."

Drunk Tali had me cracking up.

Liara on Thessia. She seemed to grow up a lot in ME2 but in that instant she was Liara from ME1 to me.

Very sad when I couldn't broker peace between the Quarians and the Geth. Horrified when Tali suicides, teary when Legion asks if he has a soul and Tali says yes.

Joker's family.

Garrus's family. Notice he only mentions his father and sister -- that means his mother succumbed to her illness between ME2 and ME3.

Totally worried about Grunt, relieved when he was fine.

Shep and Garrus's romanced goodbyes were completely heartbreaking.

Anderson's final words to Shep.

I cried like a baby when Mordin died. When he was singing with a quiver in his voice. I also cried when Thane died in the hospital. Garrus, Joker, and EDI had me laughing constantly.

Another comment on Jokers sister Hilary . If you go to the presidium commons you can overhear and nurse talking about the Asari freaks out whenever she sees the nurse and the guy says she probably does that for all humans and the Nurse says no and that she looked up Hilary and she looks just like her.

Also an easily overlooked newsletter. Aresh the red sand junkie who was still recovering from the experiments on Pragia. If you let him live in ME2 an shuttle full of children going off an colony was attacked by the Reapers. Aresh held the reapers off long enough for the shuttle to escape. I'm teared up just thinking about him fighting so hard against reaper forces repeating "This is the Reason. This is the Reason"

Also I kinda felt bad that it turns out Rana Thanoptis was Indoctrinated

For me probably the most touching moment was right at the ass end before the big Shepard speech, having romanced Tali when she barely gets out "I want more time." Perhaps the epitome of subtlety was embodied in that moment.

Also Legion dying bummed me out big time.

Then after telling everyone we were gonna have drinks later I went and died.

I had quite a few, Garrus and Shepard's last trip on the Citadel was cool. I imagined that after the scene cut away, they sat down and put back a few and just sat and enjoyed each other's presence. No talk about "old times" needed.

Thane's death also really touched me... Thane was nowhere near my favorite characther either.

I don't know, there are so many.

I didn't actually cry, but I felt some very strong emotion.

After the game ended, I really sat back and reflected. I mentioned this in another thread, but I even thought of my old dog that passed away (I have two) a year ago and all the time we spent together just sitting by each other and having her watch me play (okay she wasn't watching but that didn't matter to her). This has never happened to me with any other game before, and I am not sure if it ever will again.

Yeah. that was great. His life finally meant something. And didn't it not say he was a "recovering red sand addict"? That makes it even better. Maybe his experience with Jack gave him some closure too. He was able to see that even Subject Zero was struggling too. That Subject Zero was also human as well.

Almost cried when Grunt stayed behind. But then I was overjoyed to see him walk out alive and I laughed when he asked for food.
