Why does everyone always become gay!?!?

Why can't I play a fantasy role playing game anymore without 90% of the population hitting on me? Gays can do whatever they want, I don't care. In the real world a small percentage of people are gay, the likelyhood of somone being gay in an elite squad of soldiers is very small. Why isn't that reflected in video games anymore? When the hell did this happen?
I like to role play and really get into my games, and when my characters best buddy tries to bang him its pretty depressing. If there was a back story and some kind of something that leads up to it I wouldn't be upset in the least, but when it happens to me in multiple video games out of the blue it just isn't realistic.... Anyone who has played Skyrim knows how when you put on that amulet everyone you were nice to instantly becomes gay for you.
I can't even do a play through with Kaiden anymore because all my paragon replies seem to have an erotic tone while he lays around shirtless. atleast let me be nice to the guy without feeling forced to do something sexual I don't want to, it feels like like BioWare is sexually herassing me.
If some of my good buddies happend to be gay I wouldn't mind in the least, they know i'm not and probably would try to herass me, but if all my friends became gay for me and tried to take me home I would be seriously confounded as to why all my friends are gay for me. But after hearing how Sheapard talks to Kaiden in the hospital, I don't blame the guy.
I'm willing to talk this out if you're willing to listen BioWare.

But in the Mass Effect series, not everyone is gay. For example, Jack (from Mass Effect 2) will not sleep with women. It's a lot better than dragon age where just about EVERYONE is bisexual.

Being nice to all crewmates =/= being gay, damnit.

Yes, I had the same issue. I think Dragon Age 2 dit it better, you could almost give a positive, a neutral, a negative or a romance answer.Silasqtx wrote...

Issue is that you can't be nice to anyone without having them hit on you. Especially Kaidan who was buddybuddy in ME1 and now suddenly he has hots for maleShepard is very disturbing. By now Kaidan should know my mainshep doesn't swing with guys even if I ask "are you alright?

90% eh? I'd like to know what games you've been playing. In my copies of Mass Effect there were only 2 gay male options and 6 lesbian ones.
Granted lesbians are 90% awesome. But I meant gay as in the whole spectrum of homoerotica. All women aren't lesbians BioWare, and it's not like all the women squadmates are drunk college freshman.

Really? I played femshep and there wasn't even the slightest hint at romance. If femshep were a dude, it would have definitely been considered a true bromance.

The same goes with Kaidan. I sensed he was going to be a bisexual relationship so I was careful not to be too nice. It really makes you appreciate the DA2 icons ;-)

I wish I didn't have to kill the guy, I liked him a lot more than Ash (racist). But if that's what it takes to keep Sheapard from become severely sexually confused than maybe that's what it takes.
Paraphrase: Kaidan is bisexual. Therefore he must die.
Shepard doesn't have to be 'sexually confused'. When Cortez says something about liking the eye candy on the dance floor you can reply by saying you prefer the eye candy on stage and turn to the asari dancers. If you want your Shepard to be straight, just role-play him straight.
I wonder if the problem with homophobes is that they think it's contagious.

Whoh buddy, you don't think that it's odd that the only 2 humans in your very small elite squad of the UNIVERSES best warriors happens to be gay? It's not realistic. And to the guy above you that's being so simplistic as to say that "everyones gay because 2 guys are gay"; what would you think if you were playing Super Mario Bros. and Luigi started making passes at you, pretty creepy in too many ways. That's what the odds are of having 2 gay humans on this squad.

And the thing with Cortez... come on. You should've seen that coming the moment he told you that he had a husband. It wasn't for me, so I kept an eye out for the conversation choices that would make that clear to the game.
Anyway, Kaidan... yeah. It was there all the way back in ME1. No surprise to me, but he should've realized that my character was already in a relationship with Liara. That was the main thing that threw me off.

I have 0 problem with gays. But how homosexuality is handled in Mass Effect 3 (as well as Dragon Age 2) is stupid, unrealistic, amateurish, and frankly insulting.

Amusing how gay people never complain that they are being "forced" into straight romances.
