Thank you. America needs to be cleansed of this idiocy. I cannot stand the amount of bigotry and hatred being spewed by conservatives on a daily basis. God forbid a video game gives you a gay option. You are suddenly forcing it down their throats. I'm a straight white male for what its worth but I'm embarrassed by the actions of others.

See and this is why they shouldn't put the option in the begin with, it's too sensitive of a topic. Just look how angered and mad you two are over nothing but a handful of opinions.

But no they decided to put in a sensitive topic, to please 5% of people when franky, the world isn't ready for it yet. Let alone is any game designer intelligent enough to put such feature in to please everybody.

I'm not the one spewing bigotry and hatred,  I'm the one fighting against it.  Both sides are not always equal and don't deserve equal treatment.  If you are a bigot then no, your side of an issue does NOT deserve the same level of respect as others do.

No you're pushing your agenda and being insensntive to people who don't want to play as a homosexual character at the end of a video game series. It is being pushed onto people through game dialog untested by the developers.

All you want is every male in the whole game to be gay, that's what you want. Opinions and beliefs which slightly graze the integrity of your desires are from bigots and idiots.

I have to say it did feel sort of weird when Cortez hit on my manshep. But I just said no. Simple.
Does the fact that it is in the game for the gay community bother you that much ?
Why should they not be allowed to have a romance that reflects their sexual preference ?

Oh and to the people saying 'good thing I have Ashley', you are aware that she is modeled after a transsexual, right ?

Learn to be open minded it won't kill you.

Thank you for corrupting my image and respect of Ash for me. Lol.

"Open-mindedness" is overrated and often rather weak.

Being nice to all crewmates =/= being gay, damnit.

Yes, I had the same issue. I think Dragon Age 2 dit it better, you could almost give a positive, a neutral, a negative or a romance answer.

DA did a terrible job. My Hawke told Anders he just wanted to be friends and Anders did a gay rage-quit until he suddenly showed up to blow up the Chantry. After that, Anders wanted Hawke to stick his sword in him before, well he got Hawke's sword all right. Just one made out of cold steel and bleed Anders to death.

No they're not. He's just mad because he raised all the relationship flags and is mad that his Shep ended up in a relationship.

The OP needs to bear this in mind

Cause >>>> Effect.

That's all.

Edit: ^ Nice spoilers.

How is a person flirting with Shepard pushing an agenda. I still do not see how this is forced on anyone.

I never had a desire to play as a homosexual character so guess what .... I didn't.  I never once felt forced to play as one so I don't know what insane logic you are using to come up with that theory.

@VW:

Open mindedness is "weak" - I think you've just disagreed with every artist, inventor, scientist and competent ruler in all of human history.

Isn't that over the top renegade even for these forums?

I think you're just joking now.

Anders getting pissed off is logical, because he was mentally unstable. It was very easy to gain his approval anyhow. People can feel angry if their advances are blocked.

Ugh, this topic again... I imagine it's the young audience whose masculinity is being threatened by a video game that tends to post this kind of nonsense.

IRL, you can be friendly to homosexuals and they don't think it means you want to be in their beds though. Straight guys can be "bros" with gay guys just fine and respect each other. Not always because a straight guy is a bro to a gay guy means he's gay too.

Um, what? Because some people don't like it, it shouldn't be included. Then:

Some people think war is wrong. Therefore, no war in games.
Some people think that genocide is wrong. Therefore, genocide should not be included.
Some people think that even acknowledging that sex exists is a corrupting influence on children. Therefore, sex should not even be mentioned.

And it isn't only 5% of the population who want LBG relationships in a game. It's anyone who likes their games to reflect the range of preferences that exist in the real world. I'm a straight male, and it frankly disappoints me that it's taken until Mass Effect 3 that we actually have a gay and a lesbian in the game.

It isn't that the world isn't ready for it. It's that people like you aren't.

Wow:

There are approximately 400 humans in the Mass Effect universe (that we've encountered). You say 10% are homosexual, correct? You guys do realize that 10% of 400 is 40, right? By now we should have encountered at least 40 homosexuals. And it's unrealistic that we've only encountered 4? (Kaidan, Cortez, Al-Jilani and Traynor)

Wow. Just....wow.

I'm sure you've thought about it on more than one occasion. You're not a bigot or an idiot right? Why wouldn't you take up the chance to fulfill your fantasy in a video game?

And sometimes ANYONE regardless of their gender or sexuality can misinterpret the signs and still feel rejected and angry. And I think they don't even get angry in ME3

Sorry, but what you're saying here is basically the same as "there shouldn't be any black people in the game because when prejudiced members of the white majority say there shouldn't be black people in the game, black people get mad about it." No, sorry.

And "the world" is perfectly ready for it, as recent trends in society have indicated. The only people who aren't ready are sexually insecure man-children who've never seen a vagina and are scared they won't like it when they finally do.

Exactly, this is the point which is being missed time and time again.

If it's implemented right, who cares? If it's implemented poorly people are left with a rude shock wondering how they went from friend to homosexual lover.

Wow, I guess I should have gone to the forums and raged a bit because Liara likes to hit on my femshep.

Or, wait. It’s always fine with lesbians but if a guy bats his lashes at another male in a game, it’s horrific and wrong.

Look – yeah, romances are handled a bit clumsy OVERALL in these games. If you’re nice to someone, regardless of gender and species, they’ll think you’re trying to get into their pants and will always respond the same.

There are way more strange things going on in the bedroom in ME than guy-on-guy action – I don’t even want to think about how Femshep and Garrus gets it on. Do you have any clue of what kind of ‘tools’ these characters have? For all you know, some of the ones that look like hot girls have a plug rather than a socket underneath their clothes, if you know what I mean.

Complain that all the romances might have been handed with less heavy-handedness – that there could have been  additional options that make it clear that there’s flirting going on rather than just being nice, and that the only way to avoid it shouldn’t be to be unfriendly. But don’t say it’s just in the male-male relationship department. It’s all over the place. I always found Liara to be absolutely boring and really had to struggle for my Paragon to be both friendly with her and somehow not invite her to Shep’s bed.

I’m bisexual, by the way. That is, generally speaking, not really how it works.

So anyone who doen't feel threatened by homosexuals is a latent homosexual?

Maybe anyone who does feel threathened by them is a latent idiot.

Why have the color wheel for the skin options? That took away time from fem-shep.

No it couldnt. There isnt a group large enough for it, and it isnt exactly a great marketing slogan for the others. Unless you claim most males playing me3 are gay.
