I didn't play the demo. Well, that's about the most f***ed up thing I've heard today!

When has Microsoft ever let players play online with a free/silver account? >.>

It was just a joke sadly lol. I wish though, but still I don't mind paying to play if my PC can't handle games ;_;

What PC gamers don't realize is that they paid 3 times or more for their unstable gaming rig.

I laugh my ass off when you try to compare prices, are way off, and don't even bother to include the fact that you are paying for internet TWICE on your "stable" (ahahahahaha) gaming rig.

Well since my PC hasn't had any magic yellow or red lights of death, I would consider it more stable than any console.

PC Multiplayer games consistently have the worst issues and glitches.

Actually, I am way off. It's more like 5 times the price of an xbox, usually more.

Bah, you can build a computer that can run pretty much any current game for about $700. Only about twice what a ps3 or maybe 3 times what an xbox costs. Plus it does more than play games. Don't get me wrong, I have an xbox as well and love it, but pc is better in almost every way.

Neither has my Xbox. The new chips seem pretty solid.   .... yeah, I'm crossing my fingers while I type that. *g*

The nice thing, though, is that I can buy a game for the console without worrying about whether it'll be compatible, whether I'll need to update or tweak my drivers, and whether I'll have to adjust its settings to Medium, Low, or 1995.

If you want a PC that only has to match the performance of an XBox, $700 is stupidly overkill. If all you need is comparable performance to the console, you're looking more $300 tops.

And if you're doing a more honest evaluation, things look bad for the console real fast. Your display, for instance - your Xbox isn't much use without that. So why isn't your $300 TV included in the price? If you ignore it since it will be used for other purposes, the non-gaming portions of your PC get ignored for the same reason - and now your PC requires just a video card, and it's $150 for the PC vs $200 for the Xbox.

I don't know why anybody would even try to make this argument now though - a pc that performs equivalently to a 360 is now best described as a klunker, and you'll be buying it off ebay anyway.

Good points, let's remember that the xbox hardware is now what, 7 years old?

As for not having to change the settings between low, medium and 1995? Yeah, the xbox only does "low".

Another way for cheap people to get Xbox Live is to download the Bing Rewards toolbar and rack up some Bing points. I never use Bing normally, or IE for that matter, but I have it set up on my netbook, load it up for about 2-3 minutes per day to spam all the Bing Points options, and then shut it down. You can spend those points to buy Xbox credits, Live account subscriptions, or various other gift cards, subscriptions, etc.
