Since the end of ME3 is what it is, how are we gonna play the DLC to come ?

To play it, we must have access to the normandy and characters... right ?

I saw on twitter than one of the game producers was saying that they are working on a lot of things for ME3 (dlc I suppose) so... I'm wondering how we are supposed to continue the story.
