Afterlife was my favourite in the whole series. The great music definitely had something to do with it.

Same feeling about every area. Hospital just a big corridor, Embassies a tiny area with just Udina's office to visit, Commons an outdoor shopping/food court with all the upstairs rooms unavailable unless for a quest event. Citadel just sucked, period.

lower levels aren't accessible, and viewing them, you can see what appears to be cutouts or very rudimentary figures

ZomG!!!11!111

I actually noticed those, and was momentarily baffled. No way were those actual people... I stared for a while, and eventually decided that they probably were meant to represent some kind of art display, and that the real people below were all wondering around looking at the statues.. never occured to me it was just shoddy design.... oO

I think this is the best treatment of the Citadel yet.

First time i went in was like. "Oh, cool let's do something serious" then i was like "uh :/ where punching dancers, flirting and stuff". By the end i went in just to chat with squadmates and deliver war assets.

I know, silly discussion to make, but the bars in Mass Effect 1 and 2 were epic and full of atmosphere and things to do, like sit and watch the action.  But comparing Afterlife to Purgatory is like comparing a Las Vegas stripclub to an Alabama stripclub in terms of differences.... I liked the feel of Afterlife, Purgatory was just too dark, and almost feel it was made that way because they just ran out of time or something and had thoughts of expanding the club to be bigger.  Mass Effect 1 was still better for the simple fact you could get a dance, never seen that before in a game up to that point, it was unique in my opinion, from the point of view of someone not witnessing similar events from other games Im sure others here have

That's why Aria hates this place too :D I liked the atmopshere. A bit empty though.

Dude, the stripclubs in Las vegas aren't that bad either, try them before you bash them?

This was so perfect, made even more perfect by the rest of the thread.  /bowtoyou

Everything in Purgatory just seemed incomplete. Everything is dark and seems intentionally blackened making me think they had the thought of making it bigger but ran out of time with the release of the game. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a dlc that will unlock the lower levels of Purgatory. 1st level, 2nd level.... with the dancing and action becoming more and more raunchy, you know, hell... but it seems all they could get done in time was Purgatory, and it was a disappointment.

True....there could've been more things to do there I guess. I did get Shep ****faced every time we stopped by the Citadel so it wasn't too bad. Drink the coming bad endings away my friend.

Talking to Aria, amazingly enough, is the most interesting thing to do in Purgatory. Unless you wish to do the Shepard Shuffle.

Shepard needs a case of bourbon in the captain's quarters. After a few of those missions, Shepard would have gotten trashed. Especially after Thessia. There's only so much a person can take. Purgatory is such a tight assed place. It's more of a desperation party. Shepard is ready to go Torfan on Cerberus.

To be fair Aria tells you right on the spot that Purgatory sucks in comparison to Afterlife.

I think it could have been better if they added an epic Kelly-like lapdance session in there. Something to make up for everything else it lacked...... I mean they could of gotten rid of the lobby and added a back room, nothing is ever going on in there. And the landing pad outside, a little too big, could of taken some of that away and added to the club... priorities bioware, I go to those things for visuals, missions, and a lapdance; not to look at the parked cars and hearing turians complain

I wonder what the other species think when they see a female human stripper in the same place as the asari strippers, after all both chora's den and Purgatory had them.

Agreed, but it was pretty cool looking. Just wanted more interaction.

And this was a problem about the Citadel + The Normandy in general for me in ME3. I mean c'mon you have several unused, but accessable rooms on the normandy. I want to be able to use the privilege og having access to the mens restroom and turn on the showers, flush the toilets and go crazy, even if it's silly. I like the feces analyser easter egg on Sur' Kesh but whatever happened to the places where you could look at the view as on Omega and Illium in ME2? Why can't i shut the window on the starboard observation deck? Why can't i close the hull over the normandy so Joker can't enjoy the view? Why can't i at least reinvestigate some of my earlier topics with a crew mate after i've done it once? Sometimes ME3 just feels empty, you know.

That's partly why I wanted the both the Ex-Cerberus crew AND the new crew on the Normandy in ME3. It would have been fun listening in on everyone's conversations. One could settle more arguments. Besides, in Both ME2 and ME3, only half the seats are filled, why not fill them all?
