OK So I read the piece saying you can get the best ending without MP. I have done every side quest, every space node is 100% scanned, I even got every fleet (both geth/quarrian) that you can in ME3. I even have the Rachni from ME1, but I did destroy the councils ship in ME1. The most I could get before reduction was around 7k.
So do your imports have to be perfect to follow through on this? Do you have to do it without imports?
There is no way there is another 3k in warships in my universe to get the best ending without MP'ing. And to me that's a mislead (not calling it an outright lie because I guess with all of the "right" choices in me1/2/3 you can probably get to 10k) and very disappointing to me.
I've done some MP now so my second run through with the alternate ending has the over 5k mark, and it's the same repetitive thing over and over. Stand in random map, have enemy come, later waves have the primes/brutes/atlas's/banshee's. Survive/kill through 10 waves, survive extraction.
First few are fun, then it just becomes the same thing over and over. Doesn't even feel like any randomness, I can call out when 1 of the main (atlas/brute/prime) are coming and which wave we're getting 2-3.
Just disappointed in the havng to do MP to get best ending unless your imports are perfect.
Did BW mislead about best ending with no MP (Potential Spoilers)

Mislead? No, that would mean that they gave accurate information which might lead someone to reach an incorrect conclusion. Lie? Yes.

Assuming perfect conditions from your imports, it could be possible without MP. In order to get these perfect conditions we'd have to play ME1 and ME2 again and metagame our decisions. Even then, it might not even be possible.
MP should have no impact on SP.
MP should have no impact on SP.

Was trying to give benefit of doubt.

That was my thinking. What is up with some SP games wanting to require MP or like in some MMO's forcing PVP?

Well if that is true it sucks, I do not have Xbox live nor do I intend on paying for it.

No, you do not have to play MP to get the (relatively) "good" endings. There are more than enough War Assets in the game to get the "good" endings without having to do multiplayer. Yeah, you have to work a little harder and do more sidequests, but it's hardly impossible.
