Hallo!
Could someone explain me why the game asks me to swap disc based on which quest I choose??
Or, could someone explain me which is the
algorithm used to split the gamno on two discs???
Thanks a lot, hope in your help.

There is no logical allocation of quests, though it seems that the majority of main missions are on Disc 1 and the majority of sidequests are on Disc 2.
So when you alter back and forth between sidequests and main missions, you'll swap discs nearly every time. My first (and only, for now) play through, I swapped discs about eleven times in the first ten hours and then only swapped one final time near the end of the game.

I feel it was handled better in ME2, can't remember having to run and swap the disc every other mission. Also, I feel installing the game should result in less disc swapping. I understand the idea behind it, but there should be a more elegant solution?

Microsoft requires the disc swapping. They want you to have the disc with the content you are playing in the drive at all times (even if you installed it). The only way I think to get around the issue is to have all of the misson content on one disc. Currently we have 2 discs with 1/2 the game and good textures on each. We could have a disc with all missions and really low textures and a second disc with the good texture pack. So you could install the textures to your HD and the game would "play" from the mission disc with the better textures loading automatically.
The only issue with this option is the people who refuse to install games or lack the free space to install games.

I had only 4 disk swaps, but that was because I did only 1 side mission before Sur'kesh. So, I started with disc one, then wanted to do one side mission and switched to disc 2, went to Palaven moon and back to disc one we go. Then I only scanned some planets, did Sur'kesh and then another side mission wich promted me to switch on disc 2. After that the only time I had to swap disk was the end game.
It's not a perfect solution, I know, but if you have a problem with constant disk swaping, DON'T do any side missions before you have done the Sur'kesh mission.

Ok guys, thanks a lot for your help... I appreciated... I will do as much as possible the side quests part (hope they are all on disc 2) and than i will do the main quests...
Any way, for sure, this is the worst multiple disc design I ever seen in my all life of gamer!... that's incredible... In VG story I never seen such a problem like this... FF saga was always on multiple discs... ME2... Castlevania LOS... and many others... come on! That's a base school problem!

If I can make another suggestion - don't do any sidequests until AFTER Sur'kesh. You won't lose any of them, so you don't have to worry about an accidental failure. If you wait until after you've done Sur'kesh, you won't have to swap discs again until the endgame.
Hope this helps.

This is so f*** annoying!
And this was supposed to be a "free roam" RPG.... but no, now I have to follow a certain order of quests to avoid swapping the discs a hundred times!
This only adds to the disappointments I´m having with ME3. They had 2 years to develop the game and they couldn´t figure a better way to split the game in 2 discs?? It´s not like ME3 is the hugest game ever made!

I did a full install of the game and it pretty much pervented a lot of disc changing at some point and but it was random...when you didn't install the disc the game would be acting all weird and broke...and i was laughing when it told ya to switch to disc 1 when your on disc 2...lol

Shame they couldn't do what Forza does and just install the 2nd disk as an add-on to the 1st disk.
Only downside to it is you would need a hard disk to play, which would seem like the norm these days.
