I and another person have been having framrate stuttering in relation to the 560 ti on 64 bit with 8gb ram. (http://social.biowar...4/index/9728589)

The game stutters and frame skips whenever a new environment (room or area) is entered, and sometimes even in the middle of these environments making the game nigh-on unplayable.

Dialogue also lags with it sometimes being missed due to this bug.

I have swept drivers, updated to the latest driver, disabled/enabled vsync, disabled/enabled ingame origin overlay, set settings down to min and max (ingame and in nvidia control panel) but nothing helps.

Please help! I really want to play this epic game and get properly immersed in it without having to think about lag every 10 seconds!!

Henry

Partial solution: Defragmenting the hard drive mass effect 3 is installed on.

I have a similar problem, though i'm using an AMD 5770 1gb card, But i am using Windows 7 64bit. I wonder if its a 64bit issue?

I've even gone as far as ask my brother when he's finished with his version, on the Xbox360 - Which runs smooth as silk I may add, to lend it to me and i've dusted off my Xbox in anticipation. I just can't play the PC version as its no fun with all the chop at the moment.

If it's a Windows 7 64bit issue then I certainly do not get this problem.

With this being an Unreal Engine game check your Graphic Cards driver settings. I remember that enabling Anti Aliasing in Unreal Tournament used to make that game unplayable despite having a Graphics card more than capable of running it. I think a couple of other Unreal Engine games also have this problem.

So have a play with some of the settings and see if that fixes your problem.

Also check your RAM to make sure a stick is not faulty. Sometimes bad RAM (or poorly overclocked RAM) can cause issues like this.

Other than that this one sounds like one for the developers to answer (if they ever do).

I've turned AA off, no difference, theres still a discernable choppiness, albeit slight. I've used a tool called DXTory which displays the frame rate on the screen, and theres a constant FPS drop off when moving and looking about. If I stand still its fine, if I move it isnt.

I've tried lowering the resolution and dropping other aspects but no change. I wouldn't mind if it's cutting edge but it's nowhere near.

My RAM is fine, other games run fine too so i'll just wait for a patch, maybe.

On another thread it has been suggested that defragging the hard disk helps. I will try this and reply once it is done

Edit: My disk is extremely fragmented, this could take a day (literally).

Defragging the HDD helped only partially: It is now playable but it still lags.

I just updated to the 296.10 driver and my game is now lagging every few seconds, it was running perfectly smoothly on 295.73.

ok, so I downgrade the drivers and it made no difference, I've bee playing around with the game for a while and it seems I only get lag when moving the mouse, if I just strafe around the game runs fine but as soon as I move the mouse the game constantly freezes.
---edit---
ok fixed it, it was origins overlay, for some reason it stated lagging the game today, so i disabled it and the game is working fine now.
