The idea of the ending was great, the execution was not.

I'll keep this short. After 3 days of reflection, I like the ending. Bunch of crazy stuff happens, you're faced with this insane, emotionally-shattering decision and its consequences, but then, just as you're trying to make sense of it all, your friend's deaths, the destruction of the relays, the end of galatic civilization, BOOM Shep wakes up, it was all a dream, and the real final battle it still to come.

The problem is that NO ONE was expecting this, and it wasn't made REALLY clear that the ending was a dream/indoctrination/whatever sequence, so we were all left feeling hurt, confused, and just generally let down. Had BW added something, maybe Garrus picking you up out of the rubble of Harbinger's blast and urging you to the Citadel Beam, folks are on here freaking out about how amazing the game was, and not how the ending was awful.

So A for effort on the ending, C for execution. I'm waiting for the expansion that will complete Shep's story with baited breath.
