You could make it really hard to get (like even needing more than 7000 EMS) or the like.
I really don't understand, when ME was all about the different choices you made and how you achieved your results, why deviate from that succesful format in the last 20 minutes of a game?
Everyone could have the ending they desired, even if you had to use a walkthrough to get there.

Like I saind and other's said. We were promised multiple endings. No reason why there shouldn't be a fluffy, romantic ending among them.

Yes. I would want to have my happy ending be a challenge to get. I would like it better that way, just like the other games were.

Now my only playthru will be Cali the destroyer my ME3 only roll. I took the advice of a developer and played my first playtrhru with a new SHepard. I'm glad I did that. JD and and Killian need never suffer this mockery of justice this abortion of hope.
I am really really sad right now.

I am hoping that scene with Liara means she is pregnant. I want to see my blue kids running around!

"Shepard does not have to live or die. Both have an equally important place in stories if they're written properly. Read Lord of the Rings for a great example, or watch the movies if you're feeling lazy.. Everyone lives with some exceptions, and it is a relatively happy ending. But everyone, especially the main character Frodo, is left permanently scarred emotionally, physically, and mentally. In the end however, he and the others live and find peace after all of the trials. The key is delivering a meanful ending that shows you CAN achieve a happy ending, albiet a little bittersweet. The hero and all his or her friends do not have to die to give a deep and meanful ending. Look at Shepard: by the end of the game, his home has been scorned to ash, half his friends are dead, he's probably suffering PTSD, and has been dead. At best, his ending is bittersweet even if he achieves a "happy" ending with him living along with his remaining friends and making lots of blue babies (haha). This would enable truly devoted fans to achieve an ending where they feel their time and efforts were worth it and reasserting the theme in the two previous games that if you fight hard enough, you and your friends CAN overcome anything thrown at you with hopefully most or all of them surviving. The current ending does not keep this consistent theme."

Yes! Seriously and think of the Odyssey that was an epic, and Odysseus didn't die last time I remembered.

Exactly. In Mass Effect 2, you either made a big effort and saved as many people as possible; or you failed and everyone dies.
In ME3, there is just no variation in ending - Relays destroyed in all three; Stranded on island in all three; Shepard effectively dies in all three (there's no 100% confirmation the breathing body is Shep). So much for decisions and implications...

You can get this ending if you want to. It's all in your head
This. In my headcanon Kaidan rescues Shepard.
I know I'm such a hopeless romantic.

Did anyone keep Miranda as a love interest? How did that go? It felt more like tacked on DLC than a serious appearance when she popped up.

I dont know. Would be nice, but its not necessity. Its war, and war is brutal. Its unfair. Deal with it. Shepard dying 100%, creating loads of mourn etc wouldve been a truly unforgettable experience, This is... I dont even know what this is supposed to be -.-
While I agree that seeing our Shepard die and our friends and LI mourning her/him would be an emotional ending while still offering some closure and being a fitting ending to the story, I still think we should have a choice on the matter.
I mean come on, I get to choose the fate of entire races and I don't get to decide the fate of my on character in the end?

Well said!
Also look at Star Trek 2. Only one main character died in that and everyone else was fine but it still left tears in people's eyes and left the victory feeling bitter sweet.
Killing everyone off does not make your story more adult or better.
